hello everyone!
a couple of questions about enemas...
how far into the colon should the water be going... all the way to the ascending colon?? is it possible to get it that far by a self-administered enema or only possible with a colonic?
should we be putting in water until it won't go anymore or focus more on putting in a set amount of water and then massaging it around to get it deeper? for example, if a gallon will fit in should we put it all in or just half at a time?
what kind of retention times are ideal?
also, how do you know when it is a good idea to do non-water enemas?
are most people using the standard red drugstore enema/hot-water bottle kits?
(that's what i have and I am wondering if it is worth ordering a fancier one that holds more water)...
thoughts? suggestions?
p.s. ben... i know that you wrote quite a bit on this topic in your blog and thank you for that!
I also have a question about enemas. I wondered about doing a coffee one. Reading the file on enemas it says you need psyllium and bentonite shakes and makes it sound quite scary. Can you just put coffee in your enema bag and do the usual thing, or do you need the shakes? I don't have any psyllium and bentonite.
Ramona, I have an enema kit with a bag you can fill from the top. I got it from www.detoxyourworld.com. I'm in the UK though. I think someone mentioned it was like a douche bag?
First thing, the standard an enema bag does NOT hold a gallon of water its somewhere around a quart..stick to this bag. I recommend that one. you can use whatever feels comfortable for you. If its your first enema you can try warm water and himalayan salt, castor oil and warm water( I sometimes put 3-4 drops lavendar essential oil in it), sometimes I even do a castor oil/water or lemon juice enema ( I did this over the weekend and it felts GREAT), or coffee (organic only!) the coffee is great great great everyone keeps telling me that I should be doing these in the morning because it'll give me more energy. I'm working on it this week to see if thats true or not. I'm no expert I just know what works for me so far.
Also if your feasting right now you should avoid using any pysllium husks in your shakes or in your enemas. If you want more info on that ask david and katrina they are full of insight!
Dear Johnny,
Have you thought about Dr. Gabriel Cousens at The Tree of Life in Patagonia, Arizona? I know that's not in Cal, but after going there they do phone consults as follow ups. Gabriel has written many books on Live and Whole Food Nutrition…

Not feeling called to do a full Juice Feast? That's ok, neither am I.
David Rain suggested I do a Modified Juice Feast based on certain aspects of my health and life.
You don't have to follow any particular plan to do a Modified Juice Feast.
