On the video posted today, the Day 31 video, David mentions doing the coffee enema and holding it for 15 min. to get the liver to release bile. How do I know if I have/am releasing bile? Probably a silly question :)
My experience with coffee enemas is 10-15 minutes into it... you start hearing a lot of weird noises and feel stuff around the duodenum area... I just assumed that meant I was releasing bile but that may or may not be the case.
You wouldn't be able to tell from color seeing as everything comes out coffee-colored after you release it anyway.
Well I was only able to hold them for 10 minutes & the gurgling/reaction was just too strong. I think I could tell something was happening (still can actually) by evidence of yellow coming out afterwards & the rumbling still going on.
I need to say, I was EXTREMELY affected by the caffiene, I was jittery, shaking, had to take two baths to get rid of the shakes & got very anxious. I wasn't able to sleep until 12 hours after I took them (I don't know why I took it at night hahaha) and after being awake for over 24 hours I could barely sleep for 2 or 3 and now I'm awake again. But I did take 2 coffee enemas as I didn't think I held the first one in long enough. Lesson learned in a huge way :) I will only do one & upon waking & drink juice throughout the day afterwards...
I bet it seems obvious, but I don't have a "normal" schedule anyway. I'm lucky I have a flexible schedule so it didn't affect me too badly, and it was on the weekend. I'm not sure why I didn't realize that the caffeine affect wouldn't be the same as drinking that much coffee. I guess the benefits of the enema outweigh the harmful effects of the caffeine or they wouldn't advocate them.
Hmm so if you actually *feel* he caffeine, that won't be an option for me.
The last time I had coffee, I was jittery and throwing up after 1/4 of the cup...too bad cause this seems like an effective thing. However, it also sounds quite aggressive? But I have to watch that video first I guess to learn more :D
I definitely felt it, but again, I did two coffee enemas, I'm sure doing only one - and the right amount would have been much easier on me. In the video David only mentions it briefly, as the video is on Cancers, and doesn't go into it in depth, but mentions it should be held for 15 minutes to stimulate the liver & release the bile.
Hopefully there will be more info on it soon from David. I did some research on it last night, but it's all mainstream (if enema info is mainstream :) info, and not presented in a living foods environment/viewpoint.
I don't mind a slight buzz feeling, but coffee has always upset my stomach & made me nauseous/anxious - so perhaps a more diluted amount would work. We'll see.
It is interesting to read the replies here. I've done a few coffee enemas now. At first I just felt a bit wired afterwards. Now I feel more nauseous and this morning I was really quite shaky too. I haven't been able to hold it more than 10 minutes either. Maybe it's just as well!
Is this what is meant to happen? People on Gerson therapy are meant to do several of these things a day! How do they ever sleep?
After doing a coffee enema, you should feel quite good. The coffee must be organic, 3 tablespoons to 32 ounces of pure warm water. The jittery, nauseous feeling that some of you are having is due to liver detox and not the enema. The coffee doesn't stay in your system long enough to be absorbed. that is why it is used for this purpose. I have studied a lot about the liver while going through herbal medicine school. Whenever you do a deep cleanse, the liver will go through an intense detox also. You will find yourself going through deep mood swings as well as feeling as if you are coming down with a stomach flu. This is all normal. It is another milestone in your juice feasting journey. Welcome it.

Not feeling called to do a full Juice Feast? That's ok, neither am I.
David Rain suggested I do a Modified Juice Feast based on certain aspects of my health and life.
You don't have to follow any particular plan to do a Modified Juice Feast.
This group wants to assist and support each other by exchanging ideas on what tools we can use to realize
