Global Juice Feast

When juicing I tend to get my juices from a local juice bar instead of making them myself. I find that juicing myself requires more time and money.

Am I losing any benefits from purchasing my juices?

I don't have a juicier; I have a magic bullet with a juice extractor and it seems to cost me a fortune to buy enough produce to make even just one liter of juice (probably because the only market that takes my college credit card is a high-end place)...

Also, I'm almost never home so the convenience of buying a 16 oz fresh squeezed juice for two dollars and change is completely helpful.

I will definitely look into it - thanks so much.

Uh, yeah...$$$...at least that is my experience. $$ is what you lose in the long run. otherwise, you are restricted to the menu of the place. In my area, they serve more or less the same juices everywhere. A lot of things are based on carrot or orange, so that was not enough variety for me :(

Yes, and there are no "real" green juices. If there are any, they are usually almost all cucumber with a few sprigs/leaves of the serious greens in them.

Thanks for your responses. I'm going to try to do my greens at home (greens are cheaper for me anyhow - so I'll increase my amount of them). I'll only buy fruit juices when I'm out and don't have time to spare! :-)

Two things not mentionned as of yet:

1) organic! it is unlikely that any of the produce from your bought juices are organic!

2) energy -- having your own energy in the drink you've crafted for yourself is tremendous!

But $2 for a 16 oz. drink is fab -- maybe you could personalize it a bit with bee pollen and green powder. Just a thought!

I bought some of my juice as well -- my hubbie made it possible for the 4 Victoria Juice Feasters to get a semi-sponsorship from our local juice bar, with 50% off!
