INSECT body parts and POOP in bee pollen!!

Ok

I bought RAW bee pollen from meninites here in Ontario..Great stuff and quickly dissolves in liquid..

BUT

I have to comb through EVERY TEASPOON!

I have found legs, wings, ..EVERY TIME

And lots for black poops!! I am assuming this is what it is....

TIny speckels of POOP!!

I bought 6 pounds of it and it is in my frreezer!!!

I know how good it is for us, but WHY the body parts - really kinda gross..especially since I was a vegan who is now a BEEgan...
BUt that means I eat BEE PRODUCTS not BEE body parts and poop!!!!!!!!!!!

And I was just getting ready to look for a local organic source of bee pollen...that is kinda gross.

Never been bothered by the odd leg or wing tip in my pollen, good for b12.never seen any poop...depending on the type of flowers sometimes you'll find little dark green balls of pollen.

The pollen is a variety of lovely colours..the POOP is TINY - much smaller than the pollen and is BLACK!

Wow, I did not think bees poop like that...flies do not 'poop', they do leave behind some spots, or what not... some kind of secretions... but is this a real 'poop'? Would be interesting to find out...but in that case honey would be 'poop' as well... it comes from their 'stomachs' and is regurgitated, etc...OK... so, technically, honey would not be poop - it would be just 'vomit' ???
One way or another I love my local raw honey and bee polen as well...

My bee pollen has black pieces in it too and I don't believe it is poop just part of the pollen. The body parts and wings....that is another thing. Haven't seen that one. Would that be considered a bonus.

it's gotta be poop. it is 10 times smaller thatn the pollen peices. it is BLACK and hard. it also floats in the water with thet body parts instread of dissolving like the pollen. I thought that pollen did not kill the bees....WHY are there dead ones in here?

Actually, those bits and pieces can be propolis rather than poop.
And if it is indeed propolis.... then you are one lucky girl... you have got a very high quality bee polen there.... try the 'poop', and if it is kind of hard and vaxy... then it is propolis... super healthy and EXPENSIVE to buy...you lucky you...!!!!

This is info I found on propolis:

Propolis is a natural resin created by bees, used in the construction of hives. Propolis is produced from the buds of conifer and poplar tress, in combination with beeswax and other bee secretions. Historically, propolis was used in Greece to treat abscesses, by the Assyrians to heal wounds and tumors, and by the Egyptians for mummification. Today, propolis is commonly found in chewing gum, cosmetics, creams, lozenges, and ointments.

Propolis has shown promise in dentistry for dental caries, as a natural sealant and enamel hardener. Effectiveness of propolis against herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2 and parasitic infections has been demonstrated in preliminary studies. However, properly controlled randomized human trials are lacking, and further evidence is warranted in order to establish the therapeutic efficacy of propolis for any indication.

Numerous case reports have demonstrated propolis to be a potent allergen and sensitizing agent, and therefore it should be used cautiously in hypersensitive individuals. Toxicity with propolis is rare, although there are multiple case reports of contact dermatitis, erythema, eczema, vesiculitis, and pruritis.

this had to be the funniest and grossest thing I've read all week...think about it...honey is bee vomit (tastiest vomit I've ever had!) and bee pollen come with (their nectar...from the back end) hahaha! You can not take this very seriously. If you want you can just put the pollen in a seive and get the poop and legs out that way.

when I was a kid I would walk around on my families land and pick any fruit or veggie that I wanted i didn't bother to wash it off I would use my hand or shirt or leg to dust it off...then right in my mouth it went. ....when i was around 5 or 6 I noticed that worms where in my mangos and guavas or grass hoper parts or small bat poop n parts in/on jackfruit or rose apples or what ever else i was stuffing in my mouth...then it hit me...in that that moment with the fruit in my hand that it probably wasn't the first (more than likely) time that poop came with whatever was on the entree...i was soooo grossed out at first then i i also realized that it hadn't killed me yet and it probably won't so i kept on doing what i would always do, jump in a tree pick what looked good and stuffed it in my mouth. 20 years later I find myself doing the same thing...i mean we're all full of shit anyway right?! no?!

ha ha ha... this is funny Sheryl... but good for you to eat fruits right off the tree... I like to do that as well...
It is surprising how much full of 'shit' we are, indeed.... on my 8th day of fast... and still solid BM... and I thought that it is only 'the others' that have solid BMs on fast... I was convinced I will not have any.... so here I go...
I guess... the shit on the fruit is still better than pesticides or irradiation!

by the way nothing is worse than biting into a piece of fruit and realizing that you killed a fairly large insect that was stuck inside.... not only that but you had biten the head of it, it was still moving and its inside were oozing all over the tastiest piece of fruit you had ever had!

now that is what you call trauma! I cried..but then I got over it
