Global Juice Feast

Hi, I'm new to this and I'm having quite a bit of anxiety about doing the enemas so often. Once a week for an enema I can tolerate but every 2 days...not so much! What can I do in place of them to keep things moving? Prune Juice, Smooth Move teas, modified juice fast maybe?
Thanks.

From my understanding the enemas are a really important part of the feast. It is really important to support your organs of elimination that way. For the first week of the juice feast it is everyday and then after that is once every three days. I had felt the same way, but I went and got the enema kit and have been doing one everyother day for the last week to get used to it. I would try doing it each day in the first week and if you don't like it I suppose you could cut it down. Prune juice will always help stuff move through. But the enema lossens old matter trapped inside ya. And if you do them and you are massaging a place that hurts it is likely you are constipated there, so definately try and do as many days you can that first week... :) hope this helps

Hey JoJo,

I did the 92-day JF last year and ma gettig ready to host a week-long JF here in KC next month. I understand the reluctance of using an enema. However, what helped me and some others, was to remembed that what we are attempting to do with the Juice Feast is to let go of junk that has clogged up our system. And that means letting go of thoughts adn ideas that have clogged up our emotional and mental porcesses, too. So, I worked on letting go of my emotional/mental blocks about enemas. I did that by relzing as I gave myself an enema, feeling how it actually felt (not how I THOUGHT it felt or thought it should feel), then I made a note as to how my body felt afterward. Almost always the next day or later in the day I felt cleaner, lighter, calmer, etc. I hope that you will allow yourself to let go the thoughts of anxiety surrounding the enemas and allow yourself to release more and more into them so that all gets out of you.

In Light and Peace,
Kat from Kansas City, MO

I use Triphala which helps a lot with peristalsis. I learned about it from Gabriel Cousens' Tree of Life; although he highly recommends doing enemas as well. I personally prefer to do colonics instead of enemas. The last time I did a juice feast I used Triphala and did colonics (once a week); I did this for three weeks and expelled a lot of old waste on my own and felt great.

In my not so humble opinion, you must do the enemas. Cleansing without enemas is like cake, vegan raw cake, of course, without the icing. It's like the beach without sunshine. It's like a cucumber salad without the cucumbers. It's like a rainy day without the rain. It's like, well, you get my drift.

Now that I got that out of the way, just do them. I promise that after a week or two that you will experience and see such incredible results that you will wonder how you ever lived without them!

I know they're supposed to be done in the morning, but between juicing, getting the kids ready for school and myself ready for work (have to walk out the door at 7am) there's very little time. They can still be done at night, right?

I rarely could do them in the morning when I did the 92-day last year. It was better for me, timewise and many other ways to do them at night. Not optimal, but the objective is to do them. So, yeah, I'd say as long as you can do them, do what is comfortable within your schedule. It's not about pressuring ourselves. It's about relaxing into the process and knowing that only we can know what fits within our lifestyle.

Blessings, Kat

After reading all these posts - I just want to say each person needs to do what is right for themselves. Its ok to do enemas if you feel strongly about it. Also ok not to do so. I read the article by Herbert Sheldon and it fits with my sense for myself. I will not do enemas as I feast - and see what happens. Just seems that the body has a nice system that is meant to flow in one direction only. I am going to respect that and trust that my body will know how to eliminate what it needs to. Blessings Everyone!

Thank You Tomi! What you said is very reassuring and well put. I too, and going through the juice feast without doing enemas. I am on day 4 right now and doing great. Every morning my body has been eliminating on its own, just like it did during the three week duration of my JF last year. I am trusting that my body will continue to support me throughout the 92 days. Also, I feel as you: whatever works best for each person is what is important. The best thing that each of us can do for ourselves is to let our intuition/voice of self-knowledge guide us through.
Thanks Again! Warmest Wishes To All, Stacey

Okay, forgive me if I'm going too far here, but I need to ask to ensure a disaster doesn't occur...
I live in a house where there are nearly always other people around, and the bathroom and loo are in different areas. If I do an enema in the bathroom, what are the chances of me not making it to the loo in time?
