I started my juice feast on 12/2708 and I have made it to Day 16. I made a decision to stay on for the entire month of January. At the end of January, I will decide if I want to stay on for the whole 92 day program. So far, my juice feast has been going well. At this point, making my juice is like 2nd nature.
I am curious though how other people are holding up.... It seems it has been very quiet here.....................So, the question of the day is HOW ARE YOU DOING SO FAR???
Too funny Teresa I just came in here to make this post! I am glad things are going great for you... I started on the fifth so I am on day seven and am feeling great but my sleep hasn't been going so well the past couple of days only getting a couple hours of good sleep last night and the night before. I didn't want to get up and make my juice this morning but I knew as soon as I got some in me I would feel better and I did. I think I am going to take some fatty acids closer to bed time and see if that helps if anyone has any other ideas I would appreciate your feed back.
I have gone on other detox diets before but none as great as this one I really love it!!!
Thanks for responding. I was starting to get lonely... LOL.. I have been sleeping about 4-5 hours a night. I wake up very energized and not tired at all. How long do sleep? From what I read, most people end up sleeping less.
I wasn't getting more than a couple of hours a night for about three nights... the funny thing is I didn't feel that bad during the day just a bit tired. But I think I have it figured out.. I was reading a book the other night and one of the comments was, If you have insomnia it is probably the kidneys so yesterday I really upped my intake of water between drinking the juice and I slept through the night!!!! Yea!!
I'm on day 7 of a modified JF. I reach for solid raw varieties at least once a day like a kale salad. I've received some additional support and encouragement from gi2mr on how to move past the hunger pains and discomfort and will try these things today. My goal is to maintain the JF for 92 days and decrease the solids. Just on day 7, modified, I am noticing increased energy, improved sleep and I see a renewed person in the mirror: the fatigued heavy person in the mirror has dissipated and I have noticed some weight reduction; all excellent motivators to continue.
I started on the second so I am day 11. The first 4 days were really hard but now it seems much easier. I am going until the end of January and then I am going to take the next 2 weeks coming off the Juice feast as I am going to Hawaii.. WooHooo!!!!
I'm new to all of this…have never done a juice feast, had never heard of it until last year and then found the juicefeasting.com website in Dec '08. I am on day 6 of a modified JF. It's modified by default because my church is in a 21 day consecration and that takes precedence. The consecration ends on 1/25 and I plan (hope) to be able to do a full JF for the rest of January. So far I haven't been able to experiment much and just stick to my favorite green drink. Can anyone tell me what their weekly budget is for juicing? I'd like to know how much I can expect to spend once I'm done with the modified. THANKS!!!
Wow.. I spend probably between $75-$125 a week on fresh organic produce. There are ways you can cut your produce budget down by opting to buy some of your produce organic (e.g. things like celery, leafy greens, apples, etc.) and some of your produce coventional (things like citrus fruit and pineapples). I live in NY so it is also easy for me to go to Chinatown ( or any Asian market) to get cheaper coventional produce if I choose to do so.
Are you a Summer Juice Feaster?
The produce is perfect right now! Local organic is readily available! Things are greening, plumping, and ripening up. The Hot/Cool Shower (Contrast Shower) and working up sweats for cleansing is easier in summer!
If you want to grind grains, I suggest you get the extra container that does this. You could end up burning out your motor if you use the regular container to grind grains.

I'm just about to purchase a vita mix and I'm not sure if I need a dry bladecontainer to grind grains or if a wet one will do the job. Thanks! Van Nessa
