Global Juice Feast

I was just wondering if there is anything to worry about with drinking coffee on the feast. I know it is not raw, but it seems pretty useful to me, as it helps with the BM's and wakes me up in the morning. The only thing I have been able to think of that is bad about it is the caffeine. But some use it for enemas, and you get the caffeine that way too... Probably more so then drinking it actually. And it is on the grocery list on juicefeasting.com. So I am thinking that maybe coffee is okay? It sure would be helpful if it were.

No, definitely only for enemas!

Hi Dreamscaper,

As everyone is confirming (and confirming what you probably already know), coffee is hard on your system, and creates chaos. Even as a coffee enema, it is less than the best, according to Brian Clement. I tend to agree with him, but it does cleanse the liver/gallbladder when used as an enema. You can check my post on that here:

A question came in about Coffee Enemas, which reminded me about a recent post that Dr. Brian Clement added on his view about Coffee Enemas, liver detox, and his approach using Wheatgrass Implants. Here is my latest on this one:

David Rainoshek, MA: I have been promoting coffee enemas as part of the Juice Feasting Program now for almost 5 years, and will continue to do so. The directions and info for Coffee Enemas from my file on Enemas is below. But first, an update that you will see in the coming year on the Juice Feasting Program: wheatgrass implants. I became attuned to this possibility of an update to the Program in an email from www.AliveRaw.com, created by Hippocrates Health Institute for Dr. Brian Clement to answer questions in a conversational style. It is an excellent resource.

Dr. Clement does not recommend coffee enemas, and not because they do not work - but because there are some drawbacks, and more importantly, there is another option that is physiologically more supportive: Wheatgrass Implants. That being said, the implants require much more effort to do at home (grow and juice wheatgrass, and use a catheter that is pretty long to get the grass juice waaay up inside your colon), and so I intend to make both options for prompting liver cleansing a possible option on the Juice Feasting Program: Coffee Enemas or Wheatgrass Implants. With that, here is the answer on Coffee Enemas from Dr. Clement, with audio:

DR. BRIAN CLEMENT ON COFFEE ENEMAS

Q: You do not recommend coffee enemas.

Dr. Brian Clement: Let’s start by honoring Dr. Gerson, who brought us coffee enemas. Dr. Gerson was one of the great pioneers in the field of natural healing. He wrote many documented scientific papers, submitted them to the powers that be and of course was completely ignored.

He was scrutinized and jailed. He literally had to leave the United States and do some of his work down in Mexico. His daughter Charlotte, who is strong and admirable, has continued on.

One thing I know about the person who was as open, as inventive, as pioneering as Dr. Gerson, is that he was always on the cutting edge. He always wanted what was best. Flip back 50 years ago when he came up with the idea of coffee enemas.

How much did we know about the bad and down effect of coffee? Did we know that it produces a shocking amount of acid in the body? That acidity breaks down everything in the system at a level that is even hard to articulate on the internet.

Did we know that the stimulating affect of coffee was as bad? No, some traditional cultures literally used coffee as an herbal medicine. We didn't know that. I’m sure if Dr. Gerson was alive today, coffee enemas for those two reasons alone, would not be utilized.

Let’s take it to the next step. Somebody says, “Well we’re not drinking it.” I’ve been able to keep people alive who had ridiculous problems, things like massive scar tissue through nuclear medicine through anal implants of juices.

The absorption through the anal cavity is not exactly the same, but very similar to what ingestion through the mouth is. You’re absorbing all the acidity and stimulants I spoke about earlier.

It’s a stimulant and helps the liver and the peristaltic action. That’s the movement of the liver to push out waste. Why would we need to use this?

Wheatgrass juice, raw, living, oxygen-filled, stimulating wheatgrass juice does the same thing. Additionally, it nourishes a body. It’s very similar to the hemoglobin in human blood with a magnesium molecule in the center.

It magnetizes mucoid toxins, heavy metal poisoning and bacteria and helps to remove that from the body. Overall, it acts as a nourishment agent as well as a detoxifier.

Many people are stuck on the old. We all have to wake up every day and explore the new. We must always be open for what we can find that is better than what we know.

If I find out that something better comes up that I tested and know is better, I’m going to come on here and tell you what we did for a day or two, or 50 days or 50 years, is now going to be replaced by something else. If I did not do that, you shouldn’t be on here listening to me. I would just be part of the problem.

That’s the problem with healthcare today. Everyone wants to do the old thing. Everyone wants to be comfortable with what they know. Everyone wants to continue to do the status quo. Einstein said it beautifully. “How the heck can you expect something different when you keep doing the same thing?”

So there it is! Again, when it comes to your health, it is part of the process to determine what is best, and what is possible. In many cases what is best is the only route, even if it seems impossible, and other times what is best is optional, and other possibilities are available which might better suit your time, understanding, economic circumstances, etc. while still helping you achieve the results you vision.

I leave the decision on Coffee Enemas or Wheatgrass Implants up to you to decide - I have been doing Coffee Enemas for years, and will probably still do them - but I am interested in trying Wheatgrass Implants and will get back with everyone on that as this aspect of the Program develops.

If anyone has feedback/experience vis-a-vis Wheatgrass Implants, please post it.

HOW TO DO A COFFEE ENEMA AND WHAT IT IS/DOES:

The following is based upon Dr. Gerson's work. More information is available in his book, A Cancer Therapy: Results of Fifty Cases.

For reducing pain of the worst kind or for eliminating extreme toxic side effects produced by drugs or other toxins affecting the liver, there is nothing more effective than a coffee enema. The liver must handle most of the poisons and other toxins that have found their way into the liver, and a coffee enema is the fastest known method of reducing liver toxicity.

Coffee enemas help remove toxins from the liver quickly and safely. They often provide quick relief when fatigued, sleepy, or headachy, or for just plain malaise. They help reduce or eliminate spasms, precordial (heart, throat, chest) pain, and difficulties resulting from the sudden withdrawal of all intoxicating substances. They also help eliminate headaches caused by coffee withdrawal. Chronic and degenerative dis-eases are usually associated with a faltering liver, a condition that is often associated with liver toxicity; and coffee enemas have been effective in purging the liver of toxins that diminish liver function.

A COFFEE ENEMA IS VERY EFFECTIVE FOR THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:

Severe pain
Nausea
Nervous tension
Depression
Spasms
Precordial pain
Sluggishness
Weakness
Headaches

A coffee enema, when used properly, causes the liver to produce more bile and open the bile ducts. This causes the bile to quickly flow out of the liver. During this process, a toxic liver can dump many of its toxicants into the bile, thus getting rid of them in just a few minutes. This can give great relief to all parts of the body, especially the liver. It can easily make the difference between someone feeling so poorly that he or she has to lie down, or feeling well enough to keep active; and in some cases, it can make the difference between life and death.

In extremely toxic individuals, the bile may contain poisons that can cause spasms in the duodenum and small intestines. In rare cases, it is possible, during these times, that some bile may flow into the stomach, which can cause nausea, or vomiting of bile. This usually occurs when the colon has not been emptied prior to using the coffee enema. Therefore, it is important to empty the colon with enemas or colonics before doing a coffee enema. If nausea does occur, drink large amounts of peppermint tea to help wash the bile from the stomach.

There are two other reasons why we should empty the colon prior to using the coffee enema: 1) An empty colon allows the coffee to remain in the colon for the allotted time; and 2) colonics or enemas eliminate colonic toxicity that could "hitchhike" with the coffee and enter the liver. Obviously, we never want this to occur. Therefore, it is important to always flush out the colon before using the coffee enema.

Drinking a cup of coffee has an entirely different effect, one that is detrimental to the body. Drinking coffee causes the following problems: increased reflex response, low blood pressure, increased heart rate, insomnia, constipation, heart palpitation, over-stimulation of the adrenals, stomach irritation, and toxic residues in the body. A coffee enema when done properly will not produce these effects. In fact, a coffee enema will completely eliminate withdrawals associated with the ceasing of habitual coffee drinking.

WARNING: Great care should be used if taking coffee enemas when water fasting. Coffee enemas cause bile to be excreted from the liver. The bile contains many valuable mineral salts, the loss of which can be very harmful, if they are not replenished. People using one or more coffee enemas per day must be on a good diet of broths and fresh juices or a natural electrolyte minerals supplement such as my main alkalizing supplement, to assure the replenishing of these mineral salts.

During intestinal cleansing, one coffee enema daily may be helpful as long as pH tests were passed before starting to cleanse. Otherwise, the drinking of fresh juices, especially carrot, beet, and celery juice, are highly recommended. Taking alkalizing minerals (electrolyte minerals from food sources only) will also help to replenish the bile salts lost through coffee enemas.

In serious cases of cancer, especially when pain is being experienced, it may be necessary to perform a coffee enema every six hours, night and day - in the most serious cases, every hour. A coffee enema may be helpful once a day for about 7 days during cleansing. Otherwise it should be used only when one is feeling bad - having headaches, etc. Remember, each person needs to choose what is best for his or her body.

Preparing the Coffee Enema
Use three (3) tablespoons of ground coffee (organically grown coffee is essential) to one (1) quart of water (preferably distilled). Boil for three (3) minutes, and then simmer for 20 minutes. Strain and cool to body temperature. Prepare only the amount to be used that day; do not store overnight.

Important! Lie down on your right side, with both legs drawn close to the abdomen. Deep breathing is recommended to draw the greatest amount of fluid into the necessary parts of the colon. It also helps to let all the air out of the lungs and suck the abdomen in and out while in this position.

The fluid should be retained for 15 minutes. It helps to have a clock in clear view. It may also help to have something to read while the water is flowing in and being retained. Dr. Gerson found that all the caffeine is absorbed from the fluid in 10 to 12 minutes. The caffeine goes through the hemorrhoidal veins directly into the portal veins and then into the liver, causing the effects already described.

Note: It is a very good idea to be taking at least two psyllium-bentonite shakes daily to help absorb the toxins that are released from the bile into the small intestine by the coffee enema.

The cleansing effect of wheatgrass implants is tremendous. Having never done a coffee enema, I cannot compare them, but I would never do a coffee enema based on the research Dr. Clement offered. I can attest to the wonderful value that the wheatgrass implants have. If one is growing the wheatgrass anyway, it is not nearly as much of a hassle to use them as coffee would be (I don't even own a coffeemaker). I love the idea of using a living food rather than an acidic product.

Dear Cindi,

could you please explain the term "WHEAT GRASS IMPLANT" ? Is it just a wheatgrass juice or what exactly?
If you don't mind explain exactly the procedure that would be very helpful. I am growing wheat grass and am very interested about wheat grass enemas.
Thank you.
Blessings

Hello Renata
A wheatgrass implant is just wheatgrass. After you take a enema and you are finished evacuating, make 4-6oz of wheatgrass and use a 6oz enema syringe to draw up your wheatgrass and then lubricate syringe with coconut oil and then (I like to) lay on the floor on my left side and insert the syringe about a inch and a half in and squeeze the syringe (Bulb) and then take it out. Once you squeeze the bulb you have to take it out, do not let go of the bulb after you squeeze or it will just suck the wheatgrass back into the syringe. Hold it for as long as you can and then evacuate.
TIPS
1-If you find it hard to hold 4-6oz try 2oz.
2-After you juice wheatgrass certain nutrients start oxidizing at a fast rate so use it as fast as possible.
The large intestine has a transport mechanism by which substances are absorbed by the intestinal lumen into the blood and lymph, so in English- many nutrients are absorbed efficiently when in the intestine.
Bottoms Up LOL

:) As long as you have a good clean water source, room temp or a little warm is fine.

Hey David
Allopathic doctors are right when they say that enemas and colonics flush out diffferent important nutrients like electrolytes from the colon. I never do any enema or colonics without implanting approx 4-6 oz of wheatgrass or 2 oz E3live or 6-8 oz green juice (Kale, chard, etc) to repopulate nutrients that are washed out.
I have actually had experiences where I would implant the wheatgrass and it would all get absorbed and not expelled.

Hello Dreamscaper,
Great Question.
But caffeine is not the only toxic substance in coffee. "Remember that coffee contains a host of chemicals, not just caffeine, among them a group of extremely toxic compounds known as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). You might remember them as the cancer-causing agents isolated from barbecued meat." (Caffeine Blues, page 53)
In the movie Shadow of a Doubt, Joseph Cotten's famous line was, 'I can't face the world in the morning. I must have coffee before I can speak.' Now, substitute for the word coffee any other drug, say amphetamines. If a person said he or she can't face the world without amphetamines, we'd call him or her an addict. We'd whisk the person off to rehab and maybe even throw him in jail. But because coffee is a drug we consume ourselves, we wink and nod and say, 'Yeah, ain't it the truth!'" (Caffeine Blues, page 50)
Health food stores now offer a wide range of products, usually made from roasted cereals, that have a similar taste to coffee. However, you have to make sure that you buy genuine, caffeine free replacements. Items such as guarana, kola nut, green tea, maté tea, and ephedra are just other plant sources of caffeine and other stimulant drugs. They impair the body's functions just like coffee does. There is also a product called "Teeccino" that brews like regular coffee but does not contain any caffeine or any coffee beans. It is made from dates, figs, carob, barley, etc. It can be found in many health food stores or ordered from: Teeccino Caffé, Inc P.O. Box 42259, Santa Barbara, CA 93105, 800-498-3434, www.teeccino.com
Hope this is helps
