I have a masticating Champion Juicer, but I find that it seems like a chore to use. I usually Juice 2 times a week and freeze any extra juice and just thaw it out as I need it.
I know that with a masticating juicer you retain more of the nutrients, than if you simply use a blender. I just wanted to know if I am loosing out on a great deal of nutrients by doing it this way. It is just so much easier and enjoyable for me.....however, I don't want to give up a huge amount of nutrients just because I am being a lazy bum.................I was thinking that I would juice all of my fruit and some veggies with the champion juicer..and do my daily juice with the blender and nut mylk bag.....
Does anyone have any thoughts..am I ripping myself off doing it with the blender when I have the masticating juicer at my disposal?
On the weekdays (before starting the juice fast/feast), I juiced 3 quarts each day in the evening, using the vitamix and nut milk bag, for lettuce, kale and cucumber, and used my green life juicer for stuff that fits into it easily, e.g. celery, apples.
But, yesterday I had to juice in the morning, and the blender is really noisy and I live in an apartment, so I used the juicer instead and it actually took less time then it usually does with the blender + bag...
As far as nutrients, it seems like I get more juice out of some things using blender + nut milk bag, e.g. cucumbers. I also have run things through the juicer after squeezing all I could out of the nut milk/strainer bag, e.g. kale.
Sorry for posting twice. A problem I've had with the blender is that I sometimes heat up my juice when using it. For example, I can't blend kale very much without heating it up, that's why I said that I run kale through the juicer after squeezing juice from the nut milk bag. Is anyone able to avoid heating your kale juice?
Go with the blender it is so much faster and you don't lose that much. When I drink my juice I feel fine. Not hungry at all so it is working. Plus the cleanup is faster too. Doug in Calif...
Greetings from Germnany,
Well this is a question I had myself. I bought a Samson juicer. From what I heard, on the juicefeasting CDs, it is like splitting hairs when it comes to the difference in nutritional value between masticating juicer and blender. The blender, VitaMix, does not heat up the produce like Blend Tech, (but it is hotter than the Samson juicer, which works slowly -I do not know how fast the Champion works-) BUT the blender should speed up the process of making juice, when using a nut-bag. I find the clean-up with the Samson juicer ridiculously EASY. Kale works great in the Samson. AND the Samson is quiet! I am happy with my choice. Check out youtube to see videos about using VitaMix to make fast juices. I personally could not afford the price, at this time, for a VitaMix.
Bye for now. Mary
Thank you guys for your replies. I have been using the blender more and I find I am getting plenty of juice. I am doing both and it is working well for me. Doing it this way makes it easier, and there for I am more keen on making juice, especially in the morning. have a Great day!
Hey! I use both my greenstar and vitamix depending on time and produce. I find the taste is much better and juicing is faster (minus the clean-up) when using the greenstar. Other times if juicing citrus the vitamix or a old-fashioned citrus juicer works best.

Not feeling called to do a full Juice Feast? That's ok, neither am I.
David Rain suggested I do a Modified Juice Feast based on certain aspects of my health and life.
You don't have to follow any particular plan to do a Modified Juice Feast.
This group wants to assist and support each other by exchanging ideas on what tools we can use to realize
