Global Juice Feast

Hi there. I started juice feasting four days ago. The most I've been able to drink is 2.5 litres. I thought it might have to do with the taste of the green juices but I'm even struggling with the yummy fruit juices. I did a 7 day water fast two weeks ago, then did one week of vegan cooked before I started the feast and my appetite was low even then.
Do I have to force myself to drink more, or is 1 - 2.5 litres okay for now, and hope that I can increase the amount slowly?
By the way, the more juice I drink the more thirsty I become, until I may as well just live in the loo. Don't know if my body is rebelling against the juice...also start gagging as soon as I try drinking more than 1 - 1.5 cups at a time.
I still feel okay otherwise.

Also just had a thought that maybe the juice is overstimulating me somehow. Considering the bladder which has to be emptied constantly even when it's actually not even full (but sure does feel like it! I hold on as long as I can), the insomnia that I've had since I started the feast (4 hours sleep spead over two nights, then 5 hours last night when I had a melatonin tablet due to desperation), and the tachycardia that occurs when I do drink more juice than I feel I need (the reason I stopped the water fast that I was planning to do for 2 weeks was the constant tachycardia with a resting heart rate ranging from 120-150 - I started to get very worried, and my doctor was away, so thought it safest to just stop fasting).

Anyone else have these problems or have an idea of what's going on? I'm drinking 'normal' juices with citrus being the most stimulating I can think of (ie kale, pineapple, apple, celery, carrots, lemon etc - I can eat all of these normally without reaction).

Hopefully, someone with more experience than me will reply. It seems if you feel full, that you should not force your self. I would imagine that your body would start complaining about the lack of calories at some point and make you want to drink more. I experienced a lack of hunger for a few days, which is not the same as feeling full.

I'm a little confused, because you say you can't drink it all, but the more you drink the thirstier you get. Tachycardia sounds scarey. If that happens a lot, maybe it would be a good idea to see a doctor.

Are you also taking supplements that might be causing a strange reaction? Or, are you doing coffee enemas and having a bad reaction like I had from doing them incorrectly?

About the lving on the loo thing. I actually started consuming large amounts of juice long before I started the feast/fast, and I remember the first month I had to pee pretty much all the time. Now, it's not really a problem.

Also, you mention lots of fruit. Maybe you are having too much fruit.

Thanks for the response.
Yeah, I'm experiencing a lack of hunger, then I'll go have a juice and I'm full - too full for more juice! Also I don't think I'm having too much fruit. I'm not drinking more fruit juices than I would normally eat anyway. And I try to mix them with my greens so I don't get an immediate high blood sugar level. I think I'd be feeling hypoglycaemic between juices if my fruit intake was too high.
Re the feeling thirsty - sorry about the confusion. When I'm thirsty all I can stand is water. Juice never really quenches my thirst. So the more juice I drink, the more water I have to have.
I'm really glad the peeing settles down! I think I could actually start drinking more if I didn't pee so much, because I wouldn't be so concerned about drinking when out, or on my way out of the house.

Anyway, thanks for your help. Hopefully it will settle down!

Hmm. I don't really know what more to say. There is a "medical" aspect to your concerns, it seems to me. I would just suggest that you take anything another juice feast/faster tells you with a grain of salt (figuratively speaking). I can offer you what experience I have, but I don't have the experience to give advice about potentially complex health issues.

I was going to suggest you also post your questions on juicefeasting.com forum, but it appears to be kind of dead. You can also ask other raw vegan communities, where you will likely get a range of opinions from telling you that an all juice diet is unnatural to whatever else. For example: http://www.living-foods.com/.

Hi Skye,
Your symptoms are baffling. Are you still experiencing this? I'd try to connect with a Holistic MD somewhere. You may be experiencing internal parasites - they can create insomnia. Check out: www.shanti.com.au/body/parasites.htm#Symptoms. Coconut Oil and Diatomaceous Earth both help with parasites if that is what you are experiencing. All the best to you.

Hey SunnyFlower,
I'm actually sleeping like a dead person at the moment! Lol - I had some melatonin and it seemed to break the sleepless cycle.
The other stuff I'm going to see a dr about - I've just found out about a raw vegan dr who believes in juice feasting, so I'll set up a time to see him.
I've also been very bad with my juicing - I'm not drinking any more than 1.5 lt at the moment - really hope to improve that but it's what sets off my symptoms. I'm feeling fantastic for the moment anyway (I think it's day 12 for me now).

Thanks for the response! :-)
