Long Term Juice Feasting and Brain fat Requirements...?

I've heard from multiple people (professors of mine, mainly) that the brain requires amino acids and omega fatty acids to run at it's best function (for learning and studying during semester). It's not something I'm worried about enough to stop, but since we're getting plentiful amino acids from the various fruits/veg we're juicing, is it possible to also get the fats they claim are necessary for optimum brain function while still strictly juicing? I think my nutrients are better than previous semesters, regardless of this, so I'm thinking more clearly already, but with school beginning a week from now it crossed my mind to find out...

David? Katrina? Any advice? Or anyone with science-based help for me??

Hello Bri
Hemp and flax oil have LARGE amounts of EFA's
Also juicing some leafy green vegetables (kale, spinach, purslane, mustard greens, collard) and sunflower green sprouts have EFA's
If you are interested in more clarity of thought check out E3live-brain on or LifeGive-Phycomin.
E3Live also contains and stimulates production of DHA and EPA, which are essential long-chain omega-3 fatty acids necessary for optimal health.
Good luck with school

THANK YOU!!! :) It's cute that you gave references...and extremely helpful. I really appreciate that you took the time to give me a proper answer...and I feel much more at ease with the information. I'll check out the books and supplements you recommended, too...I could use any extra brain power I can get this semester, I'm going to be crazy busy! :)

Thanks again,

Excellent answer. Thank you, Jamison. Bri, aren't you lucky?

I would add that Juice Feasting is low in fat, but this is good for re-establishing insulin sensitivity (about 100 million Americans are pre-diabetic), and to promote healing in general. For the long term, you require a higher percentage of fats in your diet than a Juice Feast provides. That being said, for many people coming from a standard diet or a cooked diet, even with a reduced amount of fat consumed in a Juice Feast, more valuable fats are being accessed than ever before.

Just for reference, a Juice Feast will give you about 8-10 percent of your total calories from fats, and when you are eating, that percentage will range from 15-50 percent, depending on your age, sex, geographical location, time of year, emotional state, food availability, level of activity...

With peaceful steps,
