I don't know if it is just me or this is something normal and will pass but I am on day 5 of my juice feast and I have been very irritable, moody and am having a hard time relaxing or clearing my head. I have done the master cleanse before for 12 days and I remember just the opposite happening but I can't remember if that happened later on in the fast. I figured it might just be because I am not comforting myself with food and forcing myself to feel my feelings but am really looking forward to that clarity, calmness and peace of mind that I associate with fasting. Any insight would be appreciated.
Hello Robin
I have noticed that less sugar in my juice the better I feel. Lots of fruit sugar throws my system all over the place. I try to keep it almost all green (except for red pepper and tomatoe). I also feel better when I drink 2 juices fresh (first thing in the morning and last one at night) immediately after juicing to give me the hormones, oxygen, phytonutrients and enzymes that start dissipating after the juice is made. I drink 2 juices fresh and I drink 2 juices that are stored. I also notice the more sunflower green sprouts I add the more stable I feel.
If I am doing lots of physical activity or working out I will add fresh almond milk no sugar just stevia to my plan. I dissolve 15 chlorella tablets in water before working out and after working out.
Happy feasting
Jamison
Greetings Robin,
In response to your post, I would like to share.
Jamison's tips are great. One of the clues to your moodiness, and irritability level is sugar imbalance. Another clue is "cellular memory" release. When I first adventured on this path I heard quite a bit of info on this and blogged, and posted quite a it about it last year.
The concept sounded hoakey to me at first, and I thought, since I had been raw for quite a while, this would not happen to me. NAHT!
I experienced a wild "roller-coaster" of an emotional spectrum that was disconcerting to say the least. Some of the episodes were such, that I alienated some people in my life. I made a lousy first impression on others, and started to seriously question my psychological state.
In short, the addition of fruit juice (solvent), loosened things that were "stuck" inside. This put all those stuck things in my digestive tract into my colon (which feeds the brain, thyroid. etc), and effects the mental posture, mood, patience, etc. I should also mention the effects of it in my blood stream and, on my blood sugars.
As our cells release "stuck stuff", whatever emotions were present at the time of ingestion, whatever memories the body, mind, spirit had at the time of ingestion or digestion, are coming back up. Sometimes this went from ecstatic elation, to pulling over on the side of the road and crying like an inconsolable child. When I first read this conceptual explanation I thought that's junk thought...
Gal was I ever wrong!

So, to use a parallel, example; much like when a child is conceived, whatever the mental posture of the couple, or single parent is, when conception happens, and the emotional temperature of the spirit, mind, body connection, is during gestation, sets the pace, and influences greatly the temperament, and the demeanor in the child. Sometimes this takes years to see, and correlate the effects of, if we are aware.
It is the same with juice feasting, fasting, and other modalities of health restoration. There are some really good articles on this, and I believe now, there are even some books on the subject. I believe one good “booklet” by someone who has experienced this, is worth a whole library of books written by folks who are studying the subject to write on it.
Loren Lochman, of Tanglewood Wellness Center, has some great things (booklet) to share on this, as does Prof. Arnold Ehret, in “The Mucusless Diet Healing System”, and “Thus Speaketh the Stomach”. I hope this helps. Tag yer it. Way-know

Have you thought about Dr. Gabriel Cousens at The Tree of Life in Patagonia, Arizona? I know that's not in Cal, but after going there they do phone consults as follow ups. Gabriel has written many books on Live and Whole Food Nutrition…

Not feeling called to do a full Juice Feast? That's ok, neither am I.
David Rain suggested I do a Modified Juice Feast based on certain aspects of my health and life.
You don't have to follow any particular plan to do a Modified Juice Feast.
This group wants to assist and support each other by exchanging ideas on what tools we can use to realize
