Does anyone know if oil pulling is ok to continue oil pulling during the fast? I have been getting some amazing results from it and I don't want to stop unless it is harmful to the cleanse in some way. Thanks, Van Nessa
I am about two weeks into oil pulling and plan to continue it - using raw coconut oil. I'm an old timer at juicing and am still noticing weight loss, etc. so for me it doesn'[t seem to be stopping the cleanse.
I still can't do the whole tablespoon though, but every day I can oil pull a little longer.
I have been oil pulling for about 2 months now. I started doing it to aid with my detox when I started eating 100% raw vegan diet. I didn't realize what other great benefits I would get from doing it. My teeth are so much whiter, my gums are healthier. I have no plaque build up...it is fresher than going to the dentist for a cleaning.
When you are juicing, your body will begin detoxing...It would only make sense to continue to Oil Pull during your juice Fast. I agree with Kyra...they go hand in hand.
I have been using virgin sesame oil..I find the taste pleasant. I never thought of doing it with Coconut Oil. Maybe I will try it.
Yes, my teeth are whiter too and gums are pinker, and I lather the coco oil on my hair, hands, and face too while I'm at it. I'm noticing my hair is getting much curlier and softer from using the oil.
I will try the sesame oil but something about that taste doesn't sit right with me yet.
Thanks to everyone for their insight. I will continue oil pulling without concern of it interfering with the cleanse.
For anyone who is curious below is a brief explanation and directions. My dentist, and all of the studies linked to this say that only sesame and sunflower cold pressed oils are successful in pulling toxins. I originally used olive oil till I was able to locate the other oils. I got whitening results almost overnight, as well as the removal of some plaque. But when I switched to sunflower I noticed a lot less cleansing reactions, and additional healing.
In the morning before breakfast on an empty stomach you take one tablespoon in the mouth but do not swallow it. Move Oil Slowly in the mouth as rinsing or swishing and Dr Karach puts it as ' sip, suck and pull through the teeth' for fifteen to twenty minutes. This process makes oil thoroughly mixed with saliva. Swishing activates the enzymes and the enzymes draw toxins out of the blood. The oil must not be swallowed, for it has become toxic. As the process continues, the oil gets thinner and white. If the oil is still yellow, it has not been pulled long enough. It is then spit from the mouth , the oral cavity must be thoroughly rinsed and mouth must be washed thoroughly. Just use normal tap water and good old fingers to clean.
Clean the sink properly, you can use some antibacterial soap to clean the sink. Because the spittle contains harmful bacteria and toxic bodily waste. If one were to see one drop of this liquid magnified 600 times under a microscope, one would see microbes in their first stage of development. It is important to understand that during the oil-pulling/swishing process one's metabolism is intensified. This leads to improved health. One of the most striking results of this process is the fastening of loose teeth, the elimination of bleeding gums and the visible whitening of the teeth.
The oil pulling /swishing/oil pull is done best before breakfast. To accelerate the healing process, it can be repeated three times a day, but always before meals on an empty stomach.
You guys rock. I was just thinking about doing some oil pulling and wondered if I should while doing the juice feasting... and well, here you are answering my questions. Thanks!
This is very interesting.....and makes sense but just seems so wierd to do....but I will give it a try...... I was going to say give it a whirl, but that sounds too much like hurl...and I don't want to do that!!
I'll definitely give it a shot! I think I care about my teeth more than any part of my body. I even fear losing my teeth over death. This sounds wonderful!! I've always had an issue with cavities and such because I was born with no enamel in my mouth. It hurt to eat EVERYTHING! Now, it mainly hurts to eat cold stuff, such as raw fruits and veggies, which is how I got in to the whole juicing thing to begin with. This sounds like a great addition to oral hygiene! Thanks for posting this blog!

Not feeling called to do a full Juice Feast? That's ok, neither am I.
David Rain suggested I do a Modified Juice Feast based on certain aspects of my health and life.
You don't have to follow any particular plan to do a Modified Juice Feast.
