Global Juice Feast

Hello Everyone! I'm delighted to back with you all for another amazing Juice Feasting experience. I completed the 92 day Global Juice Feast last year and now I'm back again, this time for a shorter feast, probably about 30 days or so. I'm just curious who is also juicing right now. I started March 1st, but since today is the official kick off date for 2009's Global Juice Feast, I'd love to take a roll call of who you are, when you started and how long you're thinking of feasting. I am looking for support and would love to offer the same.

Cheers to an amazing experience!

Hi Penni -- let me be the first to answer the roll call! I have been feasting since February 4 and that makes 32 days today! But I still consider myself part of the 2009 Global Juice Feast. I have done a 50 day juice fast in the past (about five years ago) and I am looking to go for about 70 days total on this feast. I wish I had started earlier because I would like to go a full 92 days, but I am headed off to Costa Rica for a couple of weeks in April and I plan on transitioning back into solid food by then. Unless of course I keep feeling exponentially fabulous and decide to keep on jucin'!!!!!

Hi, I'm Andrea. I just started this morning!! I plan on going for 30 days also, then reassessing at the end of that to possibly continue on. I had thyroid cancer and have been battling with the effects of that disease, so I am hoping for great things with this experience. Before this trip, the longest fast I have been on was twelve days. I am excited to raise the bar!!!

Hello Penni,

I also started on March 1st, so today is Day 7 for me. Woo hoo!!! I believe I am planning to complete 92 days of juice feasting. Even though I got an early start, I consider myself part of the Global Juice Feast. This is my first time juice feasting for more than just a few days at a time, so I could use all the support I can get. Best wishes to you with your juice feast!

It's great hearing from each of you! There is an element of community excitement that I feel when I know I'm not out here doing this all alone ;- ) I find inspiration from each of you and I'll look forward to hearing how all of you are doing as the days progress.

Juice Party!!! WhooHooo!

I am so jealous of all of you!! I'm so anxious to get started! In about 2 weeks though, I'll be right there with you all! I still have to get my vita-mix and some other essentials. I haven't gotten any supplements yet, nor have I paid for my membership. All in good time. I'll be keeping up with everyone's progress though! This is so exciting!

Hi, I'm starting today. I've been having mostly, but not all juice for the last several months, so I think I'm ready to try the 92 days.

2 years ago was the first real turning toward raw vegan, I was mostly raw and that went well for 5 months until my gal bladder failed after I ate some meat (the doctor said my gal bladder went into stasis from having very little fat to process then had a shock from the meat). That plus other very traumatic events have thrown me into confusion, and I'm a champion procrastinator. But I think I'm getting back on course.

hey liponeer,
I had the same experience with my gal bladder. I was 100% low fat raw vegan for 1 ½ years, and suddenly eat a big chunk of meat! That night I had an acute gall bladder attack, and was in intense pain. Of course I only later found out what it was. It definitely taught me not to touch meat or cooked food again!
You are the only other raw foodist I know who has had this experience.

I am starting the 92 days juice feasting as well. Good luck with your feast.

Thanks for mentioning this it could potentially save me from a bad attack. I've been doing liver and gall bladder flushes for many years because I have GB pain. I am doing well at keeping my GB intact (no drugs or surgery) plus have flushed out many stones.

I recently realized through the Rawfu.com group of 80-10-10 that I had been on a very high fat diet even though it was mostly vegetarian and vegan. Even my raw food diet was extremely high in fat. So lately I've been going very low fat. (I should say I've made overall improvements. :-))

If I continue this way without knowing what you've gone through and then went out and ate meat or something I could really mess myself up so thanks again for mentioning this.

I think our experiences are valuable in that so many people are going in for gallbladder removal surgeries. I'm not sure how many of those are truly necessary when viewed from an internal hygienist perspective. I wonder sometimes if the GB flush protocols along with colonics could be utilized during a GB "attack" with excellent results. I've certainly read of accounts, such as mine, where someone stayed home instead of the surgery and did their apple juice, lemon juice and olive oil and saved their gallbladder. Anyway, thanks and I'm glad we're on the JF together!

hi y'all ... i have to add some mirth:
to get to my house (in the Avocado-growing capital of California, and a mostly agricultural community) you have to turn at the Jack In The Box.

as my son and I drove past it last night, I said to him "now why did they put that right there, to tempt me? why don't they change the name to Gallbladder Attack In A Box"? THAT will keep me from sneaking in there .... my son wondered why that name .... and i said it was from all the fried and fatty foods .... he loved it!
