What is everyone else doing with their pulp during the winter? My compost turning bin is frozen, can't get into it....to add all this precious stuff....
Any suggestions?
Used to make dehydrated crackers, but don't want to be too tempted yet. I guess I can freeze 'em...has anyone done that?
Well I live in Michigan so I feel you! I just made a space in my garden and have been dumping it there I just can't bare to waste all of that good stuff! I have also been freezing the carrot pulp for later cracker making... don't know if it will work but it's worth a try.
Oh and today is day nine for me and I was able to make raw onion bread, a couple of diferent nut snacks and chocolate haystack cookies with out licking my fingers I might add! So it gets easier... btw I won't be eating any of these they are for my family.
haaaa...w/out licking your fingers???!!!! You're my hero! I would still lick mine!
Congrats on day 9!
When I've done pureed soups from Dr.Young's protocol I cooked of course for my hubby and had no problem...but I still licked!
where's the recipe for the haystack? what book or do you wanna share?
I was wondering if you made the crackers and then froze them...is that worth doing? I've frozen the pulp at times, but still figure it's all better fresh!
The recipe for the haystack cookies I got from Raw Food Real World and is real easy to make and delicious... I didn't lick my fingers because I know me and that would have been it so it really wasn't all that heroic... no I just froze the carrot pulp at the time it would have been hard for me to make the crackers but you are probably right about it not being fresh I just thought I would try it and see.
Are you a Summer Juice Feaster?
The produce is perfect right now! Local organic is readily available! Things are greening, plumping, and ripening up. The Hot/Cool Shower (Contrast Shower) and working up sweats for cleansing is easier in summer!
If you want to grind grains, I suggest you get the extra container that does this. You could end up burning out your motor if you use the regular container to grind grains.

I'm just about to purchase a vita mix and I'm not sure if I need a dry bladecontainer to grind grains or if a wet one will do the job. Thanks! Van Nessa
Today is "Canada's birthday," July 1, 1867. 142 Years old!
