Releasing emotions is like stubbornly resisting the unknown right to the bitter end in favour of the old and familiar, and then breathing a sigh of relief afterwards while feeling lighter and wondering why you ever thought that, or didnt do it sooner. We live life times in our bodies but dont know half of the junk we store in it physically, emotionally or physiologically. Its sooooooo great finding out and catching longer glimpses of who we always suspected we were behind some self imposed and limiting beliefs.
As the universe can be our teacher, its lessons can be found in every living being and event, so we dont have to be islands in the sea, lets walk the mainland and meet!
Alternative ways of dealing with emotions (tried and tested)
Put pen to paper and write, draw, scribble, create a poem, open a window inside so the pent up energy can get some airing! Acknowledgement is presence, to be present is to find the calm within the storm. Then things have a way of dissipating......
When the craving for excess food screams out, the desire to purge, skip food or escape, when the going gets tough, write it, sing it or cry it, so its out there, not in here! Then more space is created for more joy and more of us can fit in to each others hearts.
