I'm going hiking tomorrow and wonder what to bring for energy. Normally I'd bring a couple of Cliff bars , bananas, apples and the like. But I'm juice feasting. I'm thinking of drinking 64 oz. of juice in the morning and then bring lemon/cayenne/agave/salt water plus a small container of straight agave. Any ideas out there?

Hi Erika. I'm no expert, so these thoughts are from what I've read or understand from my reading. I think it depends on what your goals are with juice feasting. It sounds like you're in the healing process, in which case I understand that more healing comes when your body rests, or maybe does only light exercise like yoga, walking or rebounding. RawbieGood excerpted a comment from David R. below that will probably be helpful to you. If your goal isn't necessarily to heal an ailment, then maybe you can add some weight training and light running. I'm running while juice feasting and have juiced yams as an energy source. Yam juice is a bit grainer than green juice, but that may be because it's starchier than greens. Hope that helps.

hello everyone! ok so heres the deal, before i went raw almost one year ago i was a gym guru, then what happened was a got extremely sick due to all kinds of embalances, hormones, immune, omegas, thyroid issues mineral deficiency the list goes on. i was eating a high animal protein low carb diet which was the main cause of my problem, after reading one of victoria boutinkos books i went 100% raw and never looked back. till this day i am currently struggling with my issues, so ive decided to do a 92 day feast, i am now 29 days in and something profound is happening, i am healing from the inside out and from top to bottom and i feel every part of my being healing and transforming. im still in the stages of detox and i forgot to metion, i havent worked out consistantly for almost a year, made many attempts but just physically couldnt do it for how depleted my body was, now that im starting to have an increase in energy i want to start working out again, does anyone have any suggestions on how to start up again in a safe manor, and what kinds of juices i should be drinking to support my future active lifestyle. thanx, erika

P-Lee, I'm in a similar situation. I'm training for the LA marathon on May 25. I too wondered about whether I'd find enough energy for training with just consuming juices. I decided to give it a try and see how it goes. I did a 10-miler on Sunday morning and felt great; but that was only after one day of juicing. I recently did a 14-day juice feast and still kept running, but at much shorter distances. So as I add on the miles, I'll let you know how it's going.

RawbieGood -- thanks for sharing David's advice. It could come in handy!

I juice feast often and so far each time it has not really impact my workouts. I do suggest lighter workouts in the beginning... But do your workouts at your pace and listen to your body... Drink TONS of water! I love having a green drink or lemon water before I workout for the energy. Stretch a lot as well...

Doesn't appear to be much traffic here. I am wondering who is JFing this year, 2009, and what your workouts will be like. Or someone who has JFed in the past, can you tell me how the feast impacted your workouts; especially during the feast.

Thanks, Shari

Thanks RawbieGood. I think I might try it with juice alone and if I find I get low on energy I might add a green soup with avocado. I'll let you know how it goes. It would still be nice to hear from someone that has done something like this.
Cheers
