Diabetes Defeated
This is A great story of how one member of the Health Sciences Institute (HSI) got off insulin in six

Here’s why: A protein in the plant makes you lose your craving for sugar and may actually prevent
you from digesting some of the sugar you DO eat. Plus, gymnema seems to regenerate pancreas cells,
allowing your body to produce more insulin. In an 18-month gymnema study, most test subjects were
able to reduce their medication… and some were able to get rid of drugs altogether. Best of all, no one
has reported any adverse side effects of gymnema. Not one.
Konjac mannan is a potent herb you’ve probably never heard of, but it’s been proven effective in
clinical trials. In fact, in a 65-day trial, 72 patients with adult-onset diabetes who took konjac saw their
fasting blood sugar levels drop an average of 51.8 percent and their levels after eating drop 84.6 percent!

world. There’s not a lot of clinical research into its medicinal benefits yet, but several small studies suggest
that eating nopal leaves with a meal can help contain —even reduce — serum glucose levels.
Individuals with type 2 diabetes have experienced a 10 to 20 percent reduction in blood sugar levels
after eating nopal.
Banaba leaf extract has been shown to lower blood sugar levels in people with Type 2 diabetes by

I am not Type 2 but my twin sister is and was diagnosed with it in 2003. At that time I was 295 lb and on a SAD diet. I think one reason I showed no signs is because I had some Chinese friends who owned a resturant, I ate there almost every night and had bitter melon three or for times a week. I also did not use sugar and haven't drunk soft drinks or Coffee for over 10 years. I drink fresh squeezed juices or distilled water. About the time my sister was diagnosed.I read in a juicing book about bitter melons effect on diabetes and started buying fresh bitter melon from Asian markets in either Jacksonville or Savannah and Juicing a bitter melon and apple every day for my 10 am cocktail. The owners of the Asian market looked at me kind of funny ( a old white guy buying a dozen bitter melons at a time) but when I told them what I was doing they understood. They still thought I was crazy for drinking the raw juice. They would say, " Too Bitter!" I pursued a raw vegan life style and lost 95 lbs in 2 1/2 months and have kept between 200 and 215 for the past four years. I have a friend... let me say all my friends my age (68) are on medication for type 2 diabetes. So they all have testers.and I check my blood about every two weeks and it is normal. My blood pressure runs around 125/75 which I check daily after my morning exercise. I am trying to get my sister off the medication but a big thing is losing the weight.

Yep its true I've enjoyed another fast. I decided after my initial 92+ days to make this a yearly mind, body spirit resting ritual.Don't know if I will ever go as long or longer but short - mid fasts are definitely now apart of my lifestyle.  The benefits are endless and my intentions in the near future is to completely rest and relax during my fast (no phone, work, completely surrounded only by other fasters in nature etc.)  It's a great time of healing and a lot of emotions, ideas etc arise…See More

"Hello! Substitutions are great try celery hearts, cucumber and any greens a variety is best. Tomatoes, bell pepper are a nice addition. Coconut water is tasty as a treat minus the meat. Hope this helps"
