- I'm a mom of 3 teens and at the age where years of wrong eating is taking its toll.
Being this radical is a little scary. I don't even like veggies.
However, I feel like this is a God-thing...I'm being prompted in this direction, and I need to respond.
I go over to Mozambique once or twice a year, to help the people there.
When I see the lack of nutrition and basic needs people are struggling with, I cannot keep indulging myself.
How I live matters, and I want to do it right!

Week 1-Made it!
Well... I blended and botched it. I squeezed and squirmed. I gulped, I gagged.
I juiced and jumped several times when I forgot to put a Ball jar under the spout...
cleaning up green slush from the counters, the outlets, the windows, the floor...my face!
No time to ponder the practicalities, though!
The cucumber's out and...how the heck do you get all that food in your body anyway?!
And now that my food is finally layered in the fridge in my newly invented grab-and-go way,
what do I do with what… Continue

On being loved
I woke up this morning with the intense feeling of being loved!
Yes, I do have a wonderful husband,
but not even he can crawl in to the innermost parts of me
and pour his love into the depths of my being
the way I experienced it this morning.
This morning I experienced the very arms of God around me...
The most amazing part of it was that
I was being known for who I am-
all my flaws, all my fears, ALL my failures...
and it didn't matter one little bit.
I was ready to shame myself into good behav… Continue

Yes, Lord!
Apprehension ripple through my thoughts as I try to face this daunting "calling" to a lifestyle I'm not sure can keep up with...
Yet, I feel this prompting I have come to recognize as God's voice pursuing me like Jonah who tried to get away from what God called him to, and then ended up being fish-food!
I'm also running in the opposite direction, eating everything I think I will miss.
I come with no experience, no taste for healthy food, grossed out by the color green, and not much personal dis… Continue

Not feeling called to do a full Juice Feast? That's ok, neither am I.
David Rain suggested I do a Modified Juice Feast based on certain aspects of my health and life.
You don't have to follow any particular plan to do a Modified Juice Feast.
I was reading a book on juice fasting and it suggested that for long term fasts that nut milk could be beneficial for protein. Don't know if I buy it. It said that with short cleanses it will just make you want to eat solid food , but with cleanse...

I was thinking about it yesterday while I was shopping at Whole Foods. I don't even have any prunes in my house so if I wanted to go off the feast I would have really make the effort to get to a store and soak them etc. I decided I won't buy them until I am almost done so I won't be tempted.
Stay strong and keep focused on the reasons you are doing the feast. See the positives and spend time feeling how great you are going to feel when you have completed it.

Wow...at first I thought you and I were in the same vicinity, since I actually physically live near Bethel--within 2 miles! :-) (but then I kept reading and found out you're in Chicago!)...
You are NOT going to believe this, but my oldest daughter attended Bethel's school of ministry for a year! After high school, she first went away to Vanguard University in southern Cal, then after she graduated, she came back up here and attended Bethel's SofM for a year. She totally loved it and highly recommends it. I just called her and mentioned to her about your daughter and she said she has a friend that is advanced in dance and goes to a studio here in town somewhere. She'd connect you with her friend if you are interested.
It's funny...my middle daughter went to school down at Azusa Pacific Univ and for Spring break every year she'd bring home 8-10 guy and gal friends that were all from Chicago!!! It was too far for them to go home for a short week so they'd come home with her and vacation here for that week!!! It was great!!!
Let me know what you'd like to know about Redding and maybe we could exchange phone #s ...might be easier that way!!!
