GREENS!

I have been trying to find a way to make my green juices taste better because they're either too salty or too grassy or something. Since a bad wheatgrass incident a few years ago (nobody told me that 2 ounces on a full stomach would make me throw up when trying it for the first time) I gag terribly when i even smell green juices plain. I've managed to almost meditate through that and reduce the aversion to it, but I still can't handle full-on greens. BUT. I've found a mix that even THE MOST SQUEAMISH green juicers will LOVE:

1-4 apples (4 and the greens are all gone, 1 and it's a nice sweet cover for the bitterness)
1-2 pounds greens (depending on how much juice you want to make
3-5 carrots (to taste)

I made almost a full quart with that recipe...I used 2 pounds baby spinach and regular spinach mixed, 4-5 carrots (medium), and 3 or 4 apples (i forget..i was so excited about the taste that I just kept throwing things in!). The 2 apples I started with as a tester mixed with the first half of the greens was enough to make it almost sickeningly sweet, but I need the calories if I'm going to feast properly so I kept the ratio to that mix.

...ENJOY!

Are you a Summer Juice Feaster? The produce is perfect right now! Local organic is readily available! Things are greening, plumping, and ripening up. The Hot/Cool Shower (Contrast Shower) and working up sweats for cleansing is easier in summer!

If you want to grind grains, I suggest you get the extra container that does this. You could end up burning out your motor if you use the regular container to grind grains. Debra M

I'm just about to purchase a vita mix and I'm not sure if I need a dry bladecontainer to grind grains or if a wet one will do the job. Thanks! Van Nessa
