Also Congrats on the Raw Food Chef Certification..I think that is awesome..Forgot to share that I am currently on day 18 of my 30 day year end feast. So far I've maintained the weight loss and I believe its due to the periodic feasting etc. However, I feel so amazing having a daily juice it definitely has improved my workouts. Wonderful to hear that your family joined your health journey!. My family is slowly attempting to make changes to their diet juicing for 2 weeks etc. I can't wait to hear about your plans now that you've obtained your raw chef certification..so exciting. Lastly, I am returning to school myself in holistic medicine it will be an amazing adventure to learn real science.

Hi Jalaska

I'm Debra m. I've been following your juice feast from the start. You are so motivating and I'd love to hear how you're doing post feast. I tried feasting and never made it past 8 days. I'm going to give it another shot now that the weather has warmed up and I feel I'm more mentally prepared to go through with the feast. I've been reading some good books lately that you might find interesting. 1) Your Higher Consciousness by Hilton Hotema and Quantum Eating by Tonya Zavasta. Although these books do not discuss juice feasting per se, they really make one think about modern man's obsession with food and that man is not made to eat as we do. Your Higher Consciousness discusses Breatharianism, which is something you've come very close to with your juice feast. Hope you're doing well. And how do you like your Walker juicer?

Ha-ha Glad you enjoyed my post feast menu! I did the 5-6 days eating light and then kaboom! Thank goodness I have the desire to reign myself back in; thanks to 3 months of feasting! Emotionally, I am more present and keenly aware of how I feel at all times.

What kind of life shifts/transformations are you looking to have with Juice Feasting?
The human body is fearfully, wonderfully made! But I bogged mine down over the years with junk foods, misinformation and bad habits. Some 18 months ago, I choose to heal my body -- permanently. I began by flooding myself with nutrient-dense organic and raw foods. I began to eat with purpose. The results were quick, clear and powerful. Well-being. Energy. Weight loss. And, the desire to eat meat began to fade. The gentle pull to a live foods lifestyle was effortless. Really natural. It was very cool to see my body lead the way. Now I propel everything toward deeper overall healing.

may21: too much of a pretty good thing

POST JFEAST 15
girl on a mission

you can juice too many sweet potatoes. believe me, you really can. i wanted to use up my leftovers to make way for my new juice fixin's beginning friday. so i juiced everything i had left. it was good enough, but the grit of the potatoes seemed to rough up my throat. no allergic reaction, jut a bit too much of this one thing.

plenty of energy today. no juice tomorrow, just a handful of this and that -- all good though.

POST JFEAST 14
girl on a mission

a really nice day with lots of juice. i'm low on my organic produce stash but i'll wait it out until my next cases arrive friday. that probably means a one-day fast come thursday.

the wait will be worth it, though. i have this on the way: spinach, celery, carrots, romaine lettuce, apples.

my body is reshaping again, which is a nice surprise. and my mom says my face is too thin. at the same time i'm experiencing a few mild cravings -- for bread/ca… Continue

post feast 13: fast from juice

POST DAY 13
girl on a mission

i've flipped my view to count days up through the first month or so after ending my full juice feast. this is day 13 since the break. no juice today.

i'm full of energy and completed several tasks. I had prunes, a couple of pinches of dulse and a few supplements. no hunger to speak of. really looking forward making juice in the morning.

DAY 125
girl on a mission

i'll stick to a strict modified jfeast that includes blended soups as i head toward vacation in three weeks. i'll be in one location for a week so i'm thinking about taking my juicer with me. ha! this is serious. still no nuts, seeds or oils for now. i'm feeling really good about this decision.

i signed up for a raw foods chef certification course, and have been researching several extended courses offered later this year. right now the institute… Continue

DAY 124
girl on a mission

it's so tough to find "my" food at restaurants. today i went to my favorite department store: nordstrom. love the merchandise; not so much the food, not any more. even the signature tomato soup is made with chicken broth. yes, chicken broth. *sigh* i have no desire for meat.

so i asked if i could have the veggie sandwich, sans grilled. the answer was yes. the people went long way to accommodate my request. no garlic mayonnaise. no cheese. no nothi… Continue
