I have been raw for two years now. I had to change jobs and now I am not as active. I am getting back into doing more activity now that the weather is breaking here in Chicago. I have gained some weight since I am raw/vegan and not as active. I am very interested in doing a juice fast. Mentally I am at a good state, happy, and fixed on being healthy. Very alert, and great clarity. I want to be a walking role model for what I believe to be the best way to eat and live, how God intended us to live and eat.

What kind of life shifts/transformations are you looking to have with Juice Feasting?
I am about 90% raw, I know I do not get enough protein, mostly carbs and I am steadily gaining weight. I am thinking about doing a juice fast, so I can lose the weight I have gained and to get my healthiest ever.

Hi Nancy,
Well, we share the same name AND the fact that we both gained weight while eating a raw diet. I am confused and frustrated that everytime I go 100% raw, (usually following 80-10-10) I gain weight. My clothes get tighter, my stomach gets bigger. I haven't yet been able to stick with the juice feast for more than a day. Maybe that is what I need to do to help my body to transition. It would be nice to hear from someone who initially gained weight on raw food but persisted and was able to get to their ideal weight eventually. It seems like the majority of people that I read about seem to lose a ton of weight as soon as they start eating raw. Others, like you and me, that have gained weight seem to get frustrated and quit, like I do. I would love to hear about your experience.
Hi Nancy,
welcome to this lovely community. I too switched to a raw diet from a cooked vegan and sometimes vegetarian diet. The weight gain has been steady for me too. I am on day 26 of my juice feast. I am hoping to jump start my metabolism and weight loss and train myself to eat less via this juice feast.
Have a wonderful time xo Dea

You don't have to follow any particular plan to do a Modified Juice Feast.
I was reading a book on juice fasting and it suggested that for long term fasts that nut milk could be beneficial for protein. Don't know if I buy it. It said that with short cleanses it will just make you want to eat solid food , but with cleanse...

There are many reasons why people are overweight – stress, lack of exercise, lack of knowledge concerning correct nutrition, over-worked, laziness etc. But I believe one of the most potent reasons for overeating is emotions. It is a well-known fac...
