Happy (solid raw vegan) Trails to you!! As I mentioned in a new blog posting, I am slowly adding solids, most recently with kim chee (and earlier, bee pollen/flax seeds/hemp/dulse). Since I have an automatic sprouter and have been juicing them, I am…

I just completed a liver flush. I used the one in Andreas Moritz’ book, The Amazing Liver and Gall Bladder Flush. I harvested 1/3 cup of “stones”. I noticed he recommends doing a flush once a month until two flushes yield no stones at all, so I am v…

I love the cabbage rejuvalac!! It is delicious and I have been making it every day. I also started making kim chee- I think that was from your inspiration, as well - and it's a very enjoyable process!

I had never heard of cabbage rejuvalac. What a great idea. I always long for fermented veggies on a feast/fast. I got a head of cabbage and will start some. Thanks for the tip!!

Hey, Lea, I am hearing that you DID GREAT FOR 30 DAYS!!! Yay!! Congratulations!!! That's where the focus belongs, as I see it....on what you WANT more of, not what you don't want, right? A 30-day JF is a hugely commendable feat!! I fell off the wago…

I've been debating with myself how to add chlorella, spirulina, and/or VitaMineral Green, maybe even a dash of kelp to my life! I'm mostly interested in doing so because I want to incorporate these things into my life post-GJF and it seems like a go…

Thank you for your post. I am so burned out and defeated. Did great for 30 days and this past month have been back on m&m's, pizza, dr. pepper, mcdonalds...all the disgusting stuff. I am so overwhelmed with it all. Thanks for the motivation as well…

I used the liver flush recipe (above) for the first half of the feast, and now for the second half, I've switched to lemon water and MSM as the first morning drink. I would still appreciate an answer to my question, above, if ANYone out there would…

Day 73 Liver Flush, Ferments, Juices with SuperGreens, and Other Topics

I just completed a liver flush. I used the one in Andreas Moritz’ book, The Amazing Liver and Gall Bladder Flush. I harvested 1/3 cup of “stones”. I noticed he recommends doing a flush once a month until two flushes yield no stones at all, so I am vowing to continue this process over the next months. Not fun, really, but I certainly seems like a good idea!

Since I heard about sauerkraut rejuvelac, I’ve been making and drinking it every day. I love it! I had juiced cabbage, but I f… Continue

Day 56 Incorporating Super Foods

I've been debating with myself how to add chlorella, spirulina, and/or VitaMineral Green, maybe even a dash of kelp to my life! I'm mostly interested in doing so because I want to incorporate these things into my life post-GJF and it seems like a good idea to get in the habit of using them now. Adding green powders to my yummy juices seems very mean-spirited! I don't want to turn them into something I have to choke down. :-/

Pre-GJF I had mixed a Tbl of VMG, and about a tsp each of chlorella an… Continue

Day 52 Getting Back on Track!

Day 52 I have been noticing myself sliding down the slippery slope....... On my GJF last year, this culminated in my terminating at day 60. In both cases I became less impeccable in following “the rules” that I (and the JF protocols) had established. Here are some of the things I was doing that I now intend to remedy:

Drinking juice in the evening: my intention has been to have the last serving of juice at 6 pm. This works well as a habit to carry into solid-food life. What was happening… Continue

Day 46 - half way to 92

It is day 46 of this juice feast, and it is my intention to feast for 92 days, possibly more, so that makes this the half-way mark and my first blog entry. This is an overview of my GJF process.

My intentions from the beginning have been to overcome cravings for foods that do not serve me and to become a rational, intentional, mindful eater; to improve my health; to create and instill new healthy habits; to lose 50 pounds and keep them off.

The lifestyle habits I want to instill include:Continue
