I use the Jack LaLanne Power Juicer, probably not the best thing on the market but it was on sale at Target! The little plastic thing in the mouth section of the juicer popped out and I lost it, not sure if this is related but now it leaks tons of juice out the bottom of the machine. Has anyone experienced this problem? Can I fix it without having to buy a new little plastic click in thing... don't know the proper term for this piece of equipment. Thanks!

Okay I normally don't watch the tube ...but I'm glad I did today.
An Ugly Betty character is now eating raw foods, sharing his positive ideas and wearing love beads around his neck..(Huge thick beads)
When offered his usual muffin, immediate he throws it in the garbage stating it's toxic ....I laughed out loud...
It made me realize how much I've changed and how funny I may seem to friends/family who knew me way back when.
Cool reminder to keep a big sense of humor, understanding and love for…

Also wondering if anyone has any opinions or experience with green food supplements. I have mostly been sticking to just juice, both fruit and veggie with MSM, E3 Live and Spirulina. I also like the bee products, but I have not added the internal drawing formula or green powders and wondered if anyone can tell me about their experience with them.
Thank you!

Hello all--
I just joined on to this blog and am looking forward to more community support. The last week has been challenging for me and I even fell off the wagon on occasion and ate a grape or three. I am recommitting today and have enjoyed some lovely green yumminess already this morning. I am wondering if I am not drinking enough juice. But, I am going for 92 days and am looking forward to the voyage!

Still raw. Still losing weight. Still grateful to have found this site.
I haven't wanted cooked food at all, being raw is a lot of work but just like the Jfeast, it's work that's well worth it. I found the 4 ways to get your greens crucial to keeping diversity in my diet. Green soups, smoothies and salads have been my mainstays although I do still use my juicer from time to time.
I've moved blogs so

I felt better yesterday. I had significantly more stamina bicycle riding than the day before, and didn't panic.
Today, I felt a little hungry despite my juice. I got a headache maybe from the heavy duty greens in my juice. I feel generally healthier and calmer.

Yesterday, I had whole bananas and plums as well as the juice. The carrot juice was 2 lb. of carrots, not 1.
Also, my weight is 195 lb, not 200 lb.
The 80/10/10 book refers to this site:
http://www.nutridiary.com
which is interesting. I can put in kale and it calculates the calories and breaks down percentages of fat/protein/carbohydrates. And I can add exercise that I did. The exercise bit is a little odd. I have a heart rate monitor and the amount of calories that it reports is usually far…

I'm back... I didn't hang around after stopping the feast/fast before. So, I haven't been very supportive. But, I didn't really feel successful and able to offer much advice. It was a good experience though, and I want to give it another try.
I didn't follow a raw vegan diet very well after stopping. I'm going to try either a juice feast/fast or a modified one. I don't know for how long.
For me, the feast/fast is much easier than dealing with the real vegan diet that I should have.
I'm back t…

i have been wearing myself thin with moving house, prepping new house, cleaning, and working.
still juicing and doing ok. cut out the fruit juices in the afternoon most days.
some days i just have to have one to keep going but it spikes the blood sugar level.
this has to be short because i am out of veggies and i am supposed to be packing...

Day 8
A day of remembrance
A rainy, cold day here on 9/11, fitting as I reflect on all the lives changed forever on this day. Rockaway lost a lot of people in 9/11 – firefighters and others.
It’s been a reflective day for myself too as I stepped down from working for the Raw Spirit Festival for several reasons. Ultimately, it’s been a terrific learning experience, and I got to meet people, be of service, and make some new friends that will be friends for a lifetime. It took…

i am having tea on the evening of my 6th day.
feeling more energetic, the first 4 days were very hard.
making the juice and having it with me is easier and faster now..
i remember to add my supplements, enemas are no big deal, and i am not in bed freakishly early.
i know now when my body needs juice or crashes.. that sometimes i need 4 quarts and sometimes only 3.
all in all i would say it is getting much easier as the days go on.

Dear Readers,
Today for the first time in months I went to yoga class and want to practice yoga every day like I used to for almost a year. It was upsetting to see how much flexibility I’ve lost, but I know it will quickly return. I also did some cardio on the treadmill – started to run but ending up walking for a half hour. Felt good!
I also decided to get on the scale at the gym and weigh myself so I can know how much I lost by the end of the feast. It was right where I t…

Dear Readers,
Day 4 of my fall juice feast. It’s been about six months since my last feast, and today I want to write down my goals and intentions for this feast. I can feel a lot of ‘raw emotions’ coming up already and want to give myself every support I possibly can.
My reasons for doing a feast at this time:
1. To lose the excess weight I’ve gained over the past year
2. To get back into my regular exercise program of yoga and cardio
3. To take this ‘time out from food’ t…

I am starting my juice feasting in 5 days..
On the 5th of september.
I am excited to begin because i have been planning it for a month or a bit more.
I am starting with a very good friend who is also looking forward to it a lot.
She is the one who told me about juice feasting, and is actually the only one i can really talk to about it since whenever i talk about it with other people their response is not very positive..but that is ok, we know what we are doing and are there to discuss with each…

I heard myself say to someone today that "if you are not enjoying your healing process than you are not healing". And then there was silence. Wow, that's so profound because your joy is your healing.

I love Kimchi!

I love Kimchi! That's right. I love it! I can't wait until my next dish! For me Kimchi was an acquired taste, that became an important part of my diet. What is Kimchi? It's a fermented dish from Korea. Did you know that Health Magazine wrote Kimchi is “One o…

My mom is a crazy water drinker. It used to drive me crazy, but I have officially become my mother.
I know if I haven't used the bathroom to tinkle in a few hours then I am already dehydrated.
Since our body is made up of 70% water, what happens to people who don't replenish or hydrate? Hmmm?
Sometimes my body swells. I used to feel fat, but I have learned that it is my lymphatic system retaining fluids to hold any toxins…
