Global Juice Feast

Mary's Blog (5)

Well, Actually, Today is 3 - Guess I can't count!

I had a challenging night last night. Had a very difficult time getting to sleep - and did not sleep soundly. I got a late start drinking the juices, as I didn't start making them until 8 AM today - and it took me over 2 hours. BUT - I made 6 1/2 quarts! That's five for me, and 1 1/2 for the hubby. Juice for the Day: 3 1/2 quarts: a nice savory juice containing baby Romaine lettuce, celery, lemon, tomato, broccoli stalks and carrots. I seasoned it lightly with a touch of apple cider vinegar… Continue

Day 3 of the Global Juice Feast

I'm a bit confused as to whether to post a blog here, or in the Green Room - I guess this is the hot spot right now - so I'll switch over here. I am also blogging at Yesterday was a great day - very active - but perhaps I stayed busy too late because I could NOT get to sleep! We worked in the yard for several hours - and then I did some work updating my website for my massage business. I also didn't space my juices out well. I had had 2 quarts by… Continue

2009 Juice Feast - Day 1 P.S.

P.S. It is now 9:20 PM, and I am drinking my last quart of juice for the day. As I said above, one of the challenges for me is spacing out my juice so I am having a quart every 2-3 hours earlier in the day. I am considering getting pint jars, as I sometimes feel uncomfortable after a full quart. Then, of course, I will need to have a pint every hour or two. Tomorrow is coop day . . . our local organic produce coop. I am a hostess for one of the drop off points, and normally help sort at the ma… Continue

My 2009 Juice Feast - Day 1

Above is a link to all the juicy details, on my public blog. Suffice it to say that I'm on my way! I've been drinking a lot of raw juices ever since I did the annual juice feast last year - so it doesn't feel like a big transition. My eye is still healing, so that's a big motivator to really be true to myself. Also, because during the recovery phase I had to keep my head down pretty much 24/7, I was told that could increase the risk of cataracts… Continue

My Juice Feast Begins

I've been looking forward for months to beginning the 2nd annual global juice feast. Due to personal circumstances, I've decided to begin my personal feast today. I had eye surgery on February 5th, for that macular pucker issue I mentioned months ago. Prior to the surgery, I incorporated lots of juices and raw foods. During the recovery, I did the same - though I was a bit hampered by the fact that I had to remain face down pretty much 24/7 - and my husband had to prepare my juices. When I saw… Continue
