It's 33 degrees outside, but I know better-- spring is seeping in, stealthily approarching, and definitely on its way. I missed the beginning of the big Juice Feast, apparently, but I'm not much of one for dates and deadlines, so I'm starting tonight... or tomorrow morning... whatever! The important thing is... I'm starting. This winter has been so cold, so overwhelming; I can't wait to get rid of the excesses of fat, toxins and mental clutter that have accumulated in my body and brain. I know this is going to be the most comprehensive and transformative juice fast I've ever done, and I'm excited about it.
I just finished listening to a few minutes of a radio interview with my friend Richard Blackman (who now calls himself Jericho Sunfire). This guy is really wonderful. Check out his blog. He's a revolutionary. But I wasn't listening to the interview so much for his insights (which are pretty amazing, and I often do read his blog and rawfoods.com posts and watch his videos to see what new information he's uncovered), but this time I was just feeling his energy, and there is a feeling that comes from listening to Richard -- if you catch it -- that is really wonderful : there is a healing consciousness and a gentleness and kindness that comes through to the listener like a gentle breeze that is contagious and blissful. Definitely a good way to start my juice fast, on waves of peace, bliss and unconditional love that make me feel like I've taken an 'etheric valium.' My heart slows down, time slows down, I feel a wonderful visceral and pleasant, meditative sense of peace and joy in my heart center. Hard to describe, but kind, truly spirit-centered people sometimes awaken this peaceful heart-centered space in me. (Thanks, RIchard.)
:-)
Tonight I think I'll finish reading the Arnold Ehret book on fasting that I just received in the mail a few days ago through the fabulous www.paperbackswap.com book swapping website. Arnold Ehret's fasting book was the first thing I read back in the mid-1970s about the raw food diet lifestyle. It's fun revisiting him and finding out that he is still VERY relevant.
