Hi Christine,
It's taken me far too long to reply to your email - an Aquarian trait I've been told - sincere apologies.
How did the job application go? Are you heading to the land of the long white cloud? Let me know if I can be of any assistance from this end.
Best wishes,
Lisa
PS- yes NZ is a awesome place to be an organic raw foodie - I'll let you know where to shop when you get here xxx
Glad to hear that the kids are on the mend, there are so many economic opportunties in the UK but man oh man the weather...I am staying w/my boyfriend which means remaining in Italy for a while longer. The weather is fantastic here but its tough financially. So we make the best of it. I am going home to DC and NYC next week for 15 days and I'm really happy about that.
We are getting married this fall, and we are going to try to get preganant too. I just decided to give my relationship the very best I have and I do love my bf, I want a family and I hope with all my heart that this is the path for me.
Come visit Marsala if you can, you can rent a house on the cheap 30 euros per night per person, they generally don't charge for small children, the sea is wonderful here, there are greco roman temples and theaters to visit, medieval villages and the lovely beaches. I think you'd have a blast :)
Ok beautiful lady I will talk to you soon, ciao :) xo Dea
Hi Christine,
thank you for your comment, yes I made it. I lost 30lbs and not 50 but I'm not complaining.
If I had to do it over I would stop at 45-60 days...
How are you? And your precious kiddies?
Is it warm in your area, I know summer comes later in the UK but I do hope your family is enjoying some warmth and sunshine. :) love to you too xoxo Dea muah xo
Hi Christine
Thanks for checking in. I ended up finishing my juice feast at 70 days and I did a 'prune' video which I have been meaning to post and just finish off with. I need to work out how to do it!
So day 70 for me was on 4th May and time has just flown by. I was quite strict about the feast breaking protocol and I have also found my food tastes have changed at the moment. I love nori and I hated it before. I also love those raw olives you can get from Sunfood and I really disliked them before -am finding it hard not to overeat on them!!
Anyway I finally decided to end my feast based partly on the fact that I had reached a point of thinness that I wasn't comfortable with (it was funny how it crept up on me - I was feeling too good I think) and although I found out that I was consistently probably not getting quite enough calories in my juices and could have changed that it just felt like the right time to finish. Bank holiday weekend, weather getting warmer and greens not storing so well in my garage etc etc.
I found just living off juice very liberating in certain ways and feel I have had a really deep cleanse whilst also being able to look after my family. I notice I feel much more flexible now, got rid of a verruca and gained a real feeling of energy and aliveness. I also learned for me that cleansing isn't just a one hit wonder but seems to take you up the next few rungs of a ladder and in ways other than just the physical.
I feel really drawn to getting out in nature and planting and learning about wild edibles which I have thought about in the past but am putting much more into action now.
So life is great and I am now really good at making juices - something I had done very little of before so I have a new life skill and something I would definately use again.
Maybe I will get to bump into you at another raw food event. It was really good to have you on the other end of the computer while I was feasting.
Best wishes to you.
Love
Bernice

Christine, I just checked with healthemporium the website you suggested and I had missed it but they mention gelatin too. Phoned them and they confirmed it was animal based.

Hi Christine
Just thought I'd mention that on checking out Parastroy came accross website herbalremedies.com and in their list of ingredients at the bottom says contains gelatin. I haven't checked further yet but just thought I would mention to you.
I am concerned about taking anything with cascara sagrada in at the moment and on checking out the healthforce parasite formula notice this doesn't have it in but can't find any of this in the UK. Think I may use my local herbalist and do my own thing.

Hi Christine
I think I will do a parasite cleanse but I need to get my act together. Feel a bit emotionally vulnerable today. Thoughts have been in space of am I too thin? People have commented. Feel a bit tired, had a few cleansing reactions too.
Funny though I have lost weight but most of the weight went in the first few weeks and this didn't correlate to my feeling at all tired in fact my energy was great. My thoughts could be partly responsible me thinks!!
Thanks for getting back I seem to be spending a lot of time trying to find things on the computer and I really like to speak to someone when I buy and this sometimes doesn't help with web shopping!
Hi Christine
Just thought I'd touch base!
I came across your discussion re being hungry and had to look back at my notes and lo and behold day 44 written in black and white 'I'm sooo hungry today. I remember my youngest daugther had also been wanting to have a party (for no particular reason other than to send her sister an invitation and make food) and I watched as they tucked into her homemade mini raisin muffins and could almost feel myself eating them in fact I really needed to watch in a way to satisfy myself. I also became really into getting new raw recipies off the internet and found 'the daily raw cafe blog' and became quite obsessed. I also at that time got a really big mouth ulcer. Its interesting to think that shifts physical and emotional may happen at similar times for people during the feast. If it were clear like that and we could know in advance it would almost be like having hindsight while being in the moment and maybe not feeling so attached to the beliefs.
I am finding the feast to be a real journey of self discovery and feel my children are part of the process and kindly bringing to me all I need to learn about myself. Like you mentioned with your reactions coming back to you as old stuff from childhood I am noticing it all comes back to me. For example one night I reacted to my youngest daughter who was it seemed to me being very disobedient and not settling down to sleep. The next night she behaved in exactly the same way you know the whole extend it out as long as possible routine and I was so calm and poised and felt no reaction inside at all. From this perspective I could see it was me creating the problem and it was coming from my needs, my wanting to have my way and the resulting bedtime was quicker with the peaceful me than with the reacting me!!
I also use Byron Katie as a way to question my thinking and find this a really useful tool in understanding where my thought patterns are coming from and finding peace there.
I noticed somewhere you mentioned you were taking the breakstone tea. Could I ask you where you got it from? I'm feeling a bit like I've missed a trick here and notice the whites of my eyes can have a bit of a yellow hue about them in the mornings and wonder if my liver may be asking me for a helping hand!
Well done on riding the storm. It wouldn't be worth the journey if it were all plain sailing would it!
Hi Christine
Takes me a while sometimes to get back onto the computer!!
I do make all my green juices first thing in the morning then I feel not only obliged to drink them but I think if I got towards the end of the day and didn't have them ready I would probably either go for just fruit juices or feel more inclined to eat. At the moment I am not enjoying any of my juices though. Even my beloved pineapple, orange juice mix with pure synergy and hemp oil feels too rich. Nothing seems to be hitting my tastebuds in a nice way!
I have also experienceed days of not knowing what my bowels may do - my philosophy on those days is 'if in doubt hold on'!! Think it may be connected to regularity of enemas I hadn't had one for a week until yesterday as I am continuing bowel movements every day without them. Do you know if the idea is that eventually you are meant to stop any bowel movements at all? - I might throw that one out there for discussion.
Yesterday felt really emotional - normal life stuff feeling too difficult to handle with small conflicts with children feeling so much bigger than usual and any ideas of positive communication/problem solving/parenting flying out of the window! Then I got a mouth ulcer - I think it could be to do with going back in time with the detox as these are something I used to experience a lot in the past. Anyway well done for continuing to carry on I hope I can do the same.
Having just mentioned my big negative moment I have to say this is really the only major one so far. Up till now I have felt very calm and in the zone with the benefits of juice feasting so good. Throughout I have condtinued to exercise and found my enery is massive at times. Sometimes I feel like the bionic woman in a full on circuit class and I have to remind myself to take it at 80% so as not to 'push' myself and inhibit cleansing.
Anyway today I should go and 'face my juice' I may try putting greens in my fruit juice today to see if a change helps!
Hi Christine. Yes it was me at Karen's meal (don't think about it - feeling rather attracted to food today!!). Great to see you doing the juice feast and doing so well. I struggled timewise at first not managing to get up early enough and then feeling like the whole day was spent immersed in juicing, skin brushing, hot and cold showers listening to the Rainosheks (aren't they just such sincere lovely people) finding time for the children and the rest. Then just when I was feeling my feet my husband Matthew decided to join me for a couple of weeks which was great and added a new dimension to the whole thing and I'm suddenly realising how time has flown. Juicing feels very much like a way of life for me at the moment and I have become very organised with washing my greens the night before and building a bit of a system when I juice and Matthew often helps now which is great. I am rather repetitive with my juices though so maybe I will get a bit more adventurous as time goes on. I seem to have a lot of energy during the day but still need plenty of sleep which I think I could do with even more of. It would be great to need less so I can have more hours in the day!!. It is surprising me how gently I am detoxing but I have experienced feeling very cold and take hot water bottles with me to bed at night mind you the weather hasn't helped on that front has it. Today was positively balmy though and the girls and I managed to plant some raspberries at the allotment (plans for summer munching!). Anyway this is my first post to anyone on any blog ever and I feel like I am rambling so sending you best wishes for your juicy journey.
Love
Bernice

Hi Christine - Great to see you're still juicing! Congratulations :-D
Interesting how you mentioned in the forum how you've been more creative than ever with cooking for your family - me too!
Every meal feels like a culinary masterpiece. I am having to be careful not to over do quantities - I seem to be making too much at mealtimes and have the urge to feed an army LOL I had one slip too - a piece of baked pumpkin - but like you, forgave myself and resolved to have more powerful willpower from then on.
I'm really getting into the swing of things now. I have a big green drink in the morning and fruit juice in the afternoon. I have tried all-sorts of combinations, but without a doubt, my favourite is straight orange juice - liquid gold.
I think you're doing great with four kids at home. I have 3, but 2 have already flown from the nest, so it's only my 13 year old daughter to cook for on a regular basis. Keep going! You're amazing!
Take care,
Lisa x
Hello Christine, thank you for the tip about the pollen, i still have yo buy a few things for the juice feast, and the bill look scary...

Hey Christine!
I so know the feeling....some days my stomach feels like it going to explode, so I have induced a tip for helping my digestive system get to work right away.
From the moment the juice hits my mouth I start a chewing action; to kick-start the breakdown process, this helps to release the necessary digestive juices in the mouth which is the first place of digestion. So the brain straight away gets the message that there is (food) to digest. By the time it hits your stomach another set of digestive juices are already waiting to start its work.
This process really works for me, and I seem to get that bloated feeling less and less as the days go on. I used to practice this method before JF-ing I was introduced to the idea by Lino Standrich. You may google him to read up more if you choose.
Your girls look gorgeous! what a great support team.
Are you feeling like wonder woman now?
Hi Lisa,
I'm feeling fine at the mo. In fact I've been quite energetic. By the time the kids go to bed I'm ready too though, thanks to having to get up so long before they do. My hubby has been away on a course this week, so I've been on my own with 4 kids. I'm so looking forward to him coming home tomorrow, so I can lounge in the bath for a while on my own.
Hi Christine,
Hope your juice feasting is going well. All good here. Are you managing to find enough hours in the day to do everything as well as raise a family and sleep? LOL Have to be wonder woman eh!
Take care
Lisa
Hi Christine! I am on Day 6 and doing well are you feasting too? Such a small world right? lol..well I am going to take a look around your page and read about your juice feast. Love and light Dea xo
Hi Christine
How have your first two days gone? No dramatic detox symptoms, thankfully, but having trouble juicing enough juice and drinking it all! It's also not easy watching hubbie tuck intio our raw, home-made choccie either! xx

Not feeling called to do a full Juice Feast? That's ok, neither am I.
David Rain suggested I do a Modified Juice Feast based on certain aspects of my health and life.
You don't have to follow any particular plan to do a Modified Juice Feast.
