Thanks for your nice words ^^ I'm on day 10 today and I think I'll end the juice feast tomorrow (thought about doing this a few days ago). I'll add smoothies. My initial goal was 10 :) and it's getting expensive and I don't have the best options at the moment. However, I really enjoyed the feast so far and I know now, that it IS absolutely POSSIBLE for me to do a longer juice feast - which is just AWESOME! (thought it would be "hard", but it wasn't).
I'll join the Juice Feast in January - will you be part of it as well? ,)
I've never heard of the "selkies" before, I think. Want to tell me something about them? I have a book about Irish mythology though. (I did not read it - I admit :O) - I LOVE German mythology!! Do you know the Nibelungen? ,) There are also Austrian sagas, however, I don't know many of those... There are too many books/stories I want to read by the way!!! ,)
I had a great "learning session" with a good friend of mine today - however I'm still not very confident that I will pass the exam! *lol*
Yes, it would be really "wild" *lol* - but why not? ,) As I said, it has been my wish to visit Canada for a VERY long time. However, I don't want to go there by plane (for ecological reasons). I'd love to study in UK/Ireland for 1-2 years though. I could go there by train/ferry. Anyways, I've been more into the UK lately :) I guess it's because I fell in love with England when I was reading Jane Austen ^^ And when I saw "Pride and Prejudice" my love grew even bigger... And I like the English accent more then the American/Canadian. Always did.
I became vegan when I read a book about raw food :) I wanted to be raw for health reasons. The same time I found out how TERRIBLE animals are treated in our society (for organic dairy/eggs as well) - which made me vegan mainly for ethical reasons. The ecological/health aspects are important as well. I think about including bee products into my diet, though... Ah, that's a difficult topic for me...
I see more and more clearly that this confrontational attitude does not really help to achieve much for the animals... As you say it. I don't like this negative energy either...
And YES, I'm studying Biology and I'm about to become a real scientist :) and yes, I'm agnostic and I've strongly anarchistic views ... however, there is still this "spiritual" part of my life as well... can't explain that really... ,) And I avoid to talk about that with my friends because they would call me an esoteric freak!! :O :D
So, I'll share this little info with you ,) (well, your my friend too, however I assumed that you wouldn't call me a freak.)
You say letting go of the classification of "binging" is important... can you explain why?
I did not expect that everything would be perfect after juice feasting, I know that I'm on a incredible journey called life and that there's no "right-wrong" like I always used to think...) - everything is about my own personal experience and growth :) I try to look outside the small window and see what's possible :))
It's good when you feel fine having a little bit of cooked food :) it's great when your body likes this way better than the huge amounts of fats :)
I'm sooo looking forward to eat a great salad again. I'm craving fresh and juicy vegetables/fruit/greens a little bit ^^ Think I did not get enough juice today... hm...
I want to go to Galstonbury as well!!!!!! :) We could go there together ,))
I'm still on my Juice Feast - it's day 9 ^^ I'm quite proud of myself - and it's going really, really well. I think I'll go for 21 days and then I want to join the Global Juice Feast in January! (More motivation.) Are you feasting again, in January/March 2009?
Oh, really... Everybody here in Austria prefers the sea/ocean to lakes! *lol* That's interesting :) I always think of the Lady of the Lake... Maybe that's the reason why I simply love lakes ^^
I'd like to visit you in Canada one day. Would this be OK for you? :)
You can come and visit me in Vienna, that's the capital city of Austria. I study Biology at University. I used to live on the open countryside for about 18 years - and now I'm in the middle of the largest city of the state - kinda scary :) However, there are also some positive aspects, there are lots of vegan people here :) However, I don't know any raw foodists here... :( My friends tend to eat lots of vegan JUNK food. That's sad... I'm an animal rights activist. Are there many animal rights activists where you live? It's the Animal Rights Kongress in Vienna right now, but I'm sitting at home in front of my computer for I need to learn for an exam I have this week!! And I feel so stuck... Ah... I'll give it a try again now...
Btw: Salzburg is beautiful, but it's kinda a "tourist city" - very expensive and so on. I prefer the countryside to cities. Beautiful landscape here in Austria. :) However, I have books about Canada (always wanted to go there & study there and do some tracking) and the landscape seems somewhat similar, but even more beautiful!! :)
I'm sending love & good vibrations :)
Violet
PS: How did your eating habits change after the Juice Feast? Are you still binging on food sometimes? I'm/was a bing eater for years :( and want to start a new life :)
PPS: I love how the "ancient folk" is described in "Mists of Avalon" - I wanted to be one of them... I love Morgaine Le Fay :)
PPPS: I want to see what you look like without your long hair ,)
At 11:21am on November 25, 2008, little violet said…
oh, that's great *dancing around with joy* :)
"I’ve a heart that knows, a ‘thankful list’ that grows, &I laugh &I cry &I sing far too loud. I love earth, trees, &flowers, spontaneous showers, &every star that I see. the wind &salt water, I’m a van-isle daughter, a deep-rooted red-apple tree."
I pray every morning, I dance without warning,
you did write this so well :) when I read these lines I thought that actually I could have written them as well (ok, I'm not that good at speaking/writing English for I'm Austrian, you see ^^)
- however, I'd consider myself rather a chestnut tree than an apple tree (I love apples though) and sometimes I feel like a little violet (my favourite colours are violet, green and brown by the way) or like yasmine...
And I prefer lakes to the sea (live in Austria), but I enjoy being on the coast as well... *lakes are magic*
I love poetry, William Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Mists of Avalon...! My favourite movies are Amelie and Pride and Prejudice! I also love Practical Magic ^^ and Labyrinth (with David Bowie)... do you know those films as well?
I'm in love with fairies and fairytales and consider life as something magical...
I like harp and pan flute music... and I like your hair!!
I'm on day 5 of my Juice Feast right now, it's going well :) I do not know how long I'll be feasting. At least 10 days would be great ^^ and 30 would be fantastic - 92 would be just AWESOME! :) I have a blog:
www.violetsjuicyjourney.blogspot.com
I watched the videos :) THANK U SO much !! These videos are so important for my motivation and it reminds me that I'm not alone with my views :)
Looking forward to hearing/reading from you again,
Sending love and a hug,
Oh my goddess oO
it's like reading my own profile *lol* (well, if I had taken the time to create my profile in a propper way...)
would like to be your friend :)
Yes, from the juiceluck videos, I feel like I know you, too!
How do you pronouce aililu?
Its really helped me to look at this whole process as small chunks of time...14 days, 21 days, 30 days, 42 days, etc. That makes it seem a lot less overwhelming to me. It seems like you did it that way, too. I have to say, it feels really nice to take a break from eating food. I feel like its giving me more time to focus on other things and I also feel really good about myself for doing it. Like I am stretching the limits of my potential...I could definitely see myself doing something like this more than once. As for having a "perfect" relationship with food, I don't know about you, but I have yet to meet someone who does. Who needs perfection anyway? Its boring!
Hi, thanks for the reply. I am SORT OF doing a juice feast. I am shooting for 30-42 days, maybe even longer. I am not following all the JF guidelines, but I feel like I am making lots of progress. Today is Day 15 for me. How is your transition going?
Please tell me if I spelled your name right! (down below, last week)
Hi Robyn,
I just wanted to thank you for sharing your juice feasting experience in all the juiceluck videos. They have been so exciting to watch. I am grateful for your openness and for your courage with such an incredible feat. Thank you.
I read the brine ingredients to my olive tub and they are olive oil, water, sea salt, red wine vinegar. Seems pretty darn raw to me -- the one thing could possibly be the red wine vinegar...but red wine is a fermented product...so it's likely safe -- but regardless, it's billions times cheaper!
I haven't listened yet...but have every intention after seeing the massive change in constanze! how'd the midterm go? and do you know when you'll stop feasting? Though I said 108, I'm thinking of maybe retracting that intention - I'm suddenly buketting off weight, and my cough and now gurgly voice is not good!
Thanks so much for your comment on my addiction to the coconut butter, it helps so much to talk to others who understand and walk the same path. Congrats on being so near the end!
It just arrived today -- with a cd, but I have a feeling the cd may be telling you about how great the product is -- follow the link provided to Centerpointe or Holosyn, and it's all over the place! And hey, this saturday evening, at Solstice Café, Shane Koyczan (most incredible, rivetting spoken word poet ever!) will be performing...really not to br missed -- I'm hoping we can meet at 5:30 for juiceluck...then I could take us down??!
Hey thanks for your amazing words you left for me on my blog! Missing a juiceluck always leaves a big void in my week -- but alas it will be filled with great things!
Have fun!
I went today to the Victoria Hydrotherapy Clinic -- but cause I've got cehosis they couldn't treat me - it's $75 though. I was bummed! Nice lady there, though. Someone eho was in fact considering juice feasting.
Robyn!
I found the list of Juice Feast breaking indicators on the Juice Feasting website, here goes:
!. If your heart is not in it, it has not been for 3-5 days or more, and you are definitely about to eat something
2. You have no guidance from a health professional, and/or are Feasting with feelings of fear.
3. You are not drinking enough juice or the right juice to provide your body with all the calories it requires, and do not feel that you can maintain the discipline of doing so.
4.Your weight hit 10% below your ideal weight and by virtue of drinking 5-8 quarts of juice per day with increased superfoods, has risen back steadily over at least 4-10 days.
5.Your weight has hit 10%below your ideal and has continued to trend downwards. You are feeling hungry, and are not feeling compelled (which is totally cool), to drink 5-8 quarts of juice per day to increase bodyweight.
6.You have reached 92 days of Juice Feasting and are ready to move back into eating, to Juice Feast more at a later date - once you have had a chance to regroup from this significant life event.
Hope that helps! Good to see this evening - have a wonderful week!
awesome! i'm headed down to viv fest at about 3 -- juiceluck still at 6! -- thanks for the tidbits -- i've got a session at Hemma on Wednesday -- it's my former accupuncturists place - and he's good...I'll tell you about it! And I've got a colonic booked for Monday!
do you know about the VIVA fest for Earth Day celebrations tomorrow?! I read that Jerusalem srtichokes are good for folks with glucose issues -- and I was wondering if you'd be into doing some community accupuncture sessions down at Hemma - sliding scale from $15 - $40 == and can you recommend some of your favouirte raw food cook books -- I bought a blendtec blender and dehydrator! See you tomorrow at JuiceLuck!

Welcome to the Juice Feasting Japan group! Anyone is welcome to join. It is all about supporting each other in our quest to reacher or ultimate, highest selves. Whether you are in Japan or there at heart.
Not feeling called to do a full Juice Feast? That's ok, neither am I.
David Rain suggested I do a Modified Juice Feast based on certain aspects of my health and life.
You don't have to follow any particular plan to do a Modified Juice Feast.
This group wants to assist and support each other by exchanging ideas on what tools we can use to realize
each of our goals especially the ones that worked for us personally.
