From a comment you left on Dianne's page I think you believe lemon juice to be acidic. It is in it's predigested state, but it actually is very alkalizing to the system as when it is digested it becomes alkaline. You can research if you like......am curious why you think it is not good for you. I will agree that too much citrus can be hard on tooth enamel....but I have done the MC many times and it has never bothered my teeth whereas recently drinking alot of orange, grapefruit and clementine juice and my teeth started to hurt. That doesn't happen if I have green juices also during the day.
Just not wanting misinformation to be spread....as lemon juice is good for you.
Foods such as orange juice and lemon juice are acidic in their natural state but turn alkaline after they have been metabolized in the body. As such, for dietetic purposes they are usually considered to be alkaline forming foods despite being acidic prior to consumption. Most fruits are alkaline except a few that include cranberries, plums and prunes. These fruits are classified as acidic because they contain acids the body can't metabolize.
P.S. Yes, I'm concerned about the guy Obama is poised to put in charge of our food supply too. I've been active in opposing Codex and am very concerned about the corrupt FDA and USDA here in the States. I think I've signed that petition to Obama. Good work! Let's keep in touch on these issues.
Hi Jean!
Oh, you poor dear; doctors are such a pain! Trust me, the skin problem will clear up without following dear dr's orders. ;-p I had the same problem awhile back-- I had candida then, though, which may have been related. Anyway, without antibiotics or eating cooked food I healed it.
Yesterday I went through a bit of an emotional detox in the evening-- releasing sadness from the past (heavy, dark feeling in heart center). Felt GREAT after it was over, though! It's amazing how in touch we get with our feelings and with our bodies when we fast.
I've been 'good' today-- no food temptations. Might make some broth tonight, or might just quit early and dry fast till morning.
Warm regards,
Sharrhan
I had my first colonic yesterday. It wasn't that bad. The colon hydrotherapist said that I had released a lot of impacted waste and that she could see all my juice residue! LOL.. She said I should go back every 2-3 weeks for at least 4-5 sessions. I will be finished with my 30 days on Sunday and thenI am going on a modified juice feast where I will add in 1-2 quarts of green smoothies to my juice diet.
Hi Jean!
Thanks for your comments on my blog-- that blue light thing is interesting, because I experienced something very similar years ago (I was raw back then too). It was at night and I was awake and talking to my husband, but the lights were out and I was ready to drift off to sleep, and all of a sudden the whole area directly above the bedspread all lit up with a beautiful shade of misty blue light; it kind of flashed and shimmered like lightning. I sensed the presence of some very benevolent beings in the room too. (Insert Twilight Zone music theme here.) Sumthin' in that raw food and fasting is opening us up to the inner dimensions, for sure. :-)
We must be super-heros to be juice fasting when it's this cold! In the past I would have really been bothered by it, but this year for some reason I'm warm.
Havea a beautiful weekend,
Sharrhan
Jean- I see you are hanging in there. I go for my first colonic---of course, I should have gone before now--- on Monday. I hope I have a fun experience like you apparently did. I just finished making a green juice concoction (kale, parsely, lemon, apple and burdock root juice) and my nose is runninf like crazy. I have been playing around with my Vita-Mix a lot these past 21 days. I think it is great that we are all here helping each other getting through the juice feast.
I actually had to go off for the week because I had some foot surgery last Friday. Planning my transition back into juicing tonight with some blended food. Nice to hear that others are feeling good!
Dear Johnny,
Have you thought about Dr. Gabriel Cousens at The Tree of Life in Patagonia, Arizona? I know that's not in Cal, but after going there they do phone consults as follow ups. Gabriel has written many books on Live and Whole Food Nutrition…
Hello,

Not feeling called to do a full Juice Feast? That's ok, neither am I.
David Rain suggested I do a Modified Juice Feast based on certain aspects of my health and life.
You don't have to follow any particular plan to do a Modified Juice Feast.
This group wants to assist and support each other by exchanging ideas on what tools we can use to realize
each of our goals especially the ones that worked for us personally.
